There's seems to be lack of progress on LRT 3 while MRT 2 can see some basic progress.. Like clearing up site..

will this line actually benefited klang people?

PRASARANA Bhd may have to invite a retender for the rolling stock of the third light rail transit line (LRT3) after receiving only one bid for the package last month. The tender for 42 six-car light rail vehicles (LRVs) is estimated to be worth at least RM840 million (based on 2014 LRT rolling stock procurement).

According to industry sources, a total of five bidders took part in the tender. Only the consortium of CRRC Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive Co Ltd, Siemens China and Tegap Dinamik Sdn Bhd made submissions by the Nov 23 deadline. CRRC Zhuzhou is the largest train maker in China.

I don't really understand this. GOV already budgeted for this project with sufficient fund and awarded it to particular main contractor/management to execute. Then the main contractor has a problem finding subcontractor, with whatever excuses they can come up with.

Can they postpone without any penalize from the government who awarded to them the 1st place?

After delay, as long as complete by END 2021 latest i feel OK lah! LRT is not complex to build; MRT IS!

Bliv the current consortium has 2 very strong names n they shld proceed as reopening the tender wld nt get more participants tht can adhere to the pricing!

But I see like no progress also..

25 above ground, 1 underground for LRT while mrt many underground. terrain in KL is FAR MORE challenging also. Concept also MRT is advanced. thrs a reason why MRT cost 30B and LRT 9B
