QUOTE(Kataro @ Oct 6 2006, 08:18 AM)
I had test with the PC Wizard, my processor temp is ~40C - 42C, and the motheboard temp is 62C all the way. I found that my BIOS did not show the temp correctly, it show that my processor have 62C and the chasis temp 41C doh.gif . It is opposite with what show by the PC Wizard. I then check it by slow down a bit my processor fan, my processor temp will increase 1C from 40C to 41C. So, I believe PC Wizard show the correct temp and rpm for my processor & motherboard.

BTW, the motherboard temp show in PC Wizard is the northbridge temp is it? 62C is very hot right? Is it normal?  unsure.gif
*
Yup, the motherboard temp shows to the northbridge chipset...
62, it's kinda hot...

U might wanna change u're heatsink into this:
http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...671&hl=evercool

Trust me, it'll cool you're chipset more than what you think... thumbup.gif

So, no need to go so high end chipset cooler loh... wink.gif

emm... any body use this mobo...
Gigabyte GA-K8NF-9...
its got toooo hot during operation...(venice 3000)
even with minor OC.... and how to cool it down....
i cant even try to OC it to 2Ghz
and its purple dimm slot cant work in dual channel... just orange one..
*
Boy, what's the thing are u talking about here?

What's hot?

The processor or the chipset heatsink?

If the processor, then change the processor heatsink liao...

If the chipset, then change the chipset heatsink liao, it's that simple... thumbup.gif

About the purple dimm can work in dual channel, why don't u try flashing the bios to the latest one, i suspect that the bios might be corrupted... wink.gif

Just my suggestion though... cool.gif

the chipset one.. got too hot(~65-70)...even after load optimized setting...
cpu good... just around 35-45 in operation..
*
Then go change the chipset heatsink liao...
Use Thermalright HR-05 SLi...

Don't buy the normal HR-05, coz it can't be fitted on you're motherboard...

Yes, you can, but it will block the PCi-E card...

So, go get you're own HR-05 SLi... wink.gif

HR-05 quoted at USD17.95(non sli) and andUSD24.95(sli) and swiftec quoted at USD34.80 in sidewinder computers sweat.gif
i m not sure about the availability about both.... i only spotted CM blue ice in All IT  rclxub.gif
*
You're not going for HR-05 for you're motherboard, coz it won't fit...
Trust me, you're not going to do that, or else you will regret it... wink.gif

The only thing that fits with you're board is either HR-05 SLi or Jingting Forcetake..

Ahh, and another thing, DO NOT even think of using the blue ice, it sucks to the max...

When i use it for my board, it didn't work well, infact, my passive no fan northbridge heatsink works even better than the Blue Ice... doh.gif

The availability of HR-05 and HR-05 SLi here is at Overclockers Paradise, but trust me, you don't want to buy from that shop coz the price is so damn high... rclxub.gif

Everyone here knows that...

Why don't u go for RLHH Sidewinder bulk?
It's cheaper than anywhere you can find... icon_rolleyes.gif

Trust me, that HR-05 and HR-05 SLI from sidewinder bulk is cheap...
Not just cheap, it's too cheap if you're comparing it with overclockers paradise shop price... wink.gif

ic...that will be great...but I just search for the hr-05 sli from thermalright website and found that the sli one might be too big for my current motherboard where it will block by the cpu cooler or the gc or the ram... cry.gif

maybe I should buy hr-05 first, then next time change to hr-05 sli and the hr-05 maybe can put on southbridge, hopefully... drool.gif

biggrin.gif
*
???
You've got it wrongly... sweat.gif

If u're using a motherboard that is Intel chipset based motherboard, then the normal HR-05 is the best for the northbridge...

While the southbridge, it's better for you to use the HR-05 SLI... thumbup.gif

I've heard that it is not a real performer if compared to other 3rd party chipset heatsink leh...

To add up, the price is kinda higher liao... sweat.gif

Gonna test head to head with Thermalright HR-05... tongue.gif

See either the NB 400CU can at lease compete with HR-05... rclxms.gif

Hope to hear from you soon  laugh.gif doubt that NB400CU will be even 80% of HR-05
*
Not soon enough liao... sweat.gif

My ASUS P5WD2-E Premium board is sent to taiwan, why?
Because i've checked with cycom today, and read a letter of report from their distributor myself that they don't have the stock of that motherboard to replace my motherboard... sweat.gif

This is what they said:

The fastest is either 2 - 3 weeks... rclxub.gif

Now, i'm using an Intel 945GNT motherboard [Backup motherboard for my PC]
I can't use either HR-05 or NB 400CU on this motherboard as the orientation of the heatsink is not normal [It's longer sweat.gif ]

If you google up some pictures of the 945GNT motherboard, then you'll understand what i'm trying to explain here... icon_rolleyes.gif

Then, why do CoolerMaster calls hyper 6+ as hyper 6?
When in the real world, it utilize 3 heatpipes in u shape? No? laugh.gif

Err...
What do you mean by saying that?

Ok, here's what i'm trying to explain earlier...

Ok, CoolerMaster Hyper 6 & Hyper 6+ utilize 3 heatpipe in U shapes, but, they said that it uses 6 heatpipes

So basically, i'm not at all wrong...
If CoolerMaster can call that heatsink that uses 3 heatpipe by the name of Hyper 6, then i want to say that heatsink as utilizing 8 heatpipe... laugh.gif

It state there as 4 Dual Heatpipes la... tongue.gif

Not 4 heatpipes...

It can be as maybe they're stating that 4 heatpipes on the left and 4 heatpipe on the right...

They didn't say 4 heatpipes, they said 4 Dual Heatpipes... laugh.gif

why u guys want to argue about that simple think???

whether it 4 heat pipes, or 4 dual heat pipes or 8 heatpipes, the design not change a lot....

the performance also same.only name are different...

haiya,u guys make me pening rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif

Who told you that different number of heatpipes makes the performance same? doh.gif

The Truth:
More heatpipe results to: Higher Performance which means, better heat conduction from the base to the fins...

Capiche? cool.gif

hmmm the thinner the hsf base means the faster the heats get transferred from the cpu to the hsf base, if the contact of the heatpipes and the cpu base is very good as that means the heat get transferred to the heatpipe faster then the heatpipe will transfer the heat to the fin and the fin will be cooled down by the fan:)

cpu -> the hsf base -> heatpipes -> fins then fins cool down by the fan smile.gif

the smoother of the hsf base means the more contact between the cpu and the base....

hope this explains it  biggrin.gif
