However, the 16mm has a bit of vignetting left, and distortion beyond the APS-C frame is weird, but it’s not too bad – it can look rather interesting!

I have a pro camcorder for over 10 years without using a dry box, just put inside my sealed camera bag. Never experience any wet issue. |

QUOTE(redlyfs @ Sep 19 2014, 09:15 AM) Shitty place. Bought twice from them. Thanks for sharing. Now I need to be careful if buying from them. Only buy cheap stuff I guess, if they have good price and I don't mind waiting. On the 1st order, they listed an item as in stock but 3 days after payment still no word from then so I called. No one answered. I wrote email, spam their FB and still no one replied until 3 days later which is 6 days after payment. The guy told me item is not in stock and ask me to wait another week. Parcel only arrived 14 days later. Delivery from date of payment : 3+3+14 = 20days. 2nd time, a year later. Forgotten how shitty their service is. Ordered something, arrived 3weeks later. This time they didn't bother replying anything. Calls, emails, FB. No I didn't order during holidays and no the order tracking wasn't updated on their website Just go check their FB to see how poor their service is. I know for sure they delete a lot of negative feedback. They used to have a review section but took it down after streaking countless negative reviews. The review is still listed on my own FB, if anyone wants proof just let me know. One case where they delete comment is when someone bought a Xiaomi powerbank and claimed it was fake. He backed it with photos. IPMart rep had the balls to tell him that they never stated that it was branded "Xiaomi", the guy proceed to provide an invoice that clearly showed it is stated as Xiaomi. Then IPMart proceed to blame it on the vendor, which was weird since the way they claim that they never said it was branded Xiaomi insinuated that they themselves had control of their own product descriptions. I also have screenshots of this comments prior to deletion. Later when I saw people had complaints unattended, I provided information and contact details for complaint center; IPMart blocked me off on FB. Seriously. Don't give them business. I'm just thankful I didn't receive fake product but shitty ass follow up and late delivery. On another note, since on the topic, here's some people who can help you regarding online commercial crime. SKMM / MCMC Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission http://www.skmm.gov.my/ 1800 888 030 KPDNKK Ministry of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism http://e-aduan.kpdnkk.gov.my/eaduan/aduanbaru.php?lang=2 1800 886 800 PDRM Royal Malaysia Police department for Commercial Crime Investigation http://www.ccid.my/ 603-20319999 / 603-22663333 Screenshots of IPMart fake Xiaomi powerbank comment » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « EDIT : Wow, they also disabled Posts by Others. Xiaomi has a lot of fake products in the market. So I hope they don't sell fake product other than Xiaomi! Any experience on other camera online shops? I had a friend who bought some cameras and lenses from Shashinki, when the stock arrived, they delivered fast (ie. lens). That was a GH4 that she waited for month+ but I understand entire Malaysia has no stock during that period of time for GH4. However, need to check price before buying from Shashinki as some products at good price but some are ridiculously overpriced. This post has been edited by yok70: Sep 19 2014, 02:41 PM |

QUOTE(leinnz @ Sep 19 2014, 04:28 PM) Regarding exposure setup and shooting a person with landscape, Are we supposed to use Multi Mode metering? i always use multi, i find it overall best for most situations on the Sony, except for critical or got lots of time preparing for the shot then may as well manual setting. I find it better using Multi mode instead of centre or spot for my Nex-5R |

QUOTE(Valentino46 @ Sep 20 2014, 12:01 AM) wow, what a cliche ya, some people here has very strange response when someone complain about some functionality offered by a camera. me and you becomes victim for a while now. so i quit using any features whenever i bump into any difficulties without even trying to make it works, that's genius the fuss is about making it something work, because when it work, its wonderful, switch it off only serve as the last resort. we are here to discuss how "the" camera behave on certain functions/features, and how to work around them or providing suggestions to the camera maker for a firmware update etc. This is suppose to be a constructive discussions but then we see many emotional responses (even for the one sentence I wrote!) that seems like they are not happy on any complain. You had shown us the weakness of this face detection feature, so it's a weakness, this is the fact. So I think you deserved to be thank by sharing this. Of course we can choose other way to shoot the photo better, but that's out of the point here. We are discussing about face detection, remember? Not like, oh, you shouldn't use it this way, bla bla bla. ok, forget about those noise now. So in conclusion, I do wish Sony gives us an option to set on/off for face detection on Exposure. If we have this option, that would be really nice to use the face detection feature since without it, the auto exposure works really well actually. And in fact, it's a great feature to have when shooting events. For now, I'd chose to use manual mode with Auto ISO and DMF for AF mode and turn off the face detection. When flash is on, a slow-sync gives more comfortable exposure but I usually prefer to not use the flash unless it's absolutely necessary or it's in a carefully set up studio. QUOTE(Newbieeeeee @ Sep 20 2014, 02:38 AM) How is that face detection thing a 'weakness'? It doesn't make any sense. It's supposed to detect a face. That's all it's supposed to do! Do you expect the camera to frame your shot for you as well? Or help you do some instant editing in Photoshop? Or do you expect 2 different shutter speeds, one for the background and one for the face? Calling the face detection a weakness because it can't get perfect exposure for a backlit photo, which no camera in this world is able to do, shows us your level of knowledge about cameras and their system. What are you talking about?? Read carefully what people said before shooting back. Don't act like a child. How old are you? Kid?I said, turning off face detection, the auto exposure works very well even at moderate backlit condition (as demonstrated by Valentino46). Therefore, if the face detection can give us an option to use the auto exposure mode that works when there is no face detection, then it would be great. Meaning, the face detection only find the face and focus it for us, that's all. Don't you want this feature? Please tell me, do you want this feature? No? You don't want is it? You prefer it the way right now is it? An option to turn off exposure meter on face is just required firmware update, no need hardware update. And it should be a rather simple update. Well at least a kid doesn't need to insult a so called 'adult' to prove his point. Kid 1-0 Self proclaimed adult. Edit: Btw I didn't really read through what you said. QUOTE(albnok @ Sep 20 2014, 02:57 AM) From: thanks for sharing. This photos showed that the camera actually works pretty well on exposure with face detection on your A550.https://docs.sony.com/release/NEX3N.pdf "Detects people’s faces automatically, and adjusts focus and exposure to suit the faces." So it would seem that as far back as the NEX-3N, Face Detection was already exposing for the faces. Would you be able to test both the NEX-3N and A6000 together, both with Face Detection on, to see if the 3N would include the rest of the scene? I was always under the impression that Face Detection always worked that way, and I've used a lotta Sonys from the A100 onwards. My first camera with Face Detection, the Sony Cybershot W190, would struggle with extremely backlit faces because it would not recognize the face. If the 3N and A6000 meter exactly the same when Face Detection is successful, then it might just be a case of the 3N not detecting the face as often, being older technology. ![]() This was from when I tested the Sony Alpha 550 with Face Detection. Face Detection sets the (nearest) AF point to the detected face, and adjusts exposure and white balance accordingly. Top: Face Detection off; bottom: Face Detection on. Notice that while Face Detection did adjust exposure for the face, it did so conservatively in this case (2/3rds of a stop brighter.) (From http://glaringnotebook.com/?p=1336 - so it might seem that they went from a conservative compensation to something deemed more consumer-friendly.) I personally enjoy Face Detection because it saves me the step of spot metering on a face that is backlit. However, by reflex I would adjust exposure if it was too bright, like in your situation. |

QUOTE(aqiera @ Sep 20 2014, 04:14 AM) i think there is a simple solution of this problem... I never use face detection mode, so not sure. If it works with bracketing, then you are right, this will solve the problems. just use bracketing exposure... it will capture 3/5 frames... later pick the one you like under/over/perfect exposure... jangan gado-gado... But for those who usually shoot with preferred exposure on burst shooting (like myself, usually shoots with slow burst such as 2 to 3 frames per second), can't applies to this also. Now I wish (I am being more greedy now) Sony can upgrade the firmware to allow for bracketing with combination of burst shooting (ie. 2 photos with -1EV, 2 photos with 0EV, 2 photos with +1EV), that would be perfect! Can we do that already? This post has been edited by yok70: Sep 20 2014, 04:32 AM |
