Yesterday A6000 and A7S in the same bag got hit with each other and the ends result was both cameras (in addition to serious scratches on the lenses) have the same issue as attached pictures here. I burst shoot the image and it comes out with that weird color line. Any expert please advice me what was that (camera issue or possibly lens issue also? They are the FE 24-70 and E 50 F1.8 lenses) and where is the best place to send the camera in for repair (Any Sony Center/retail shop? Or there is a Sony technical Center somewhere? ) . Very sad now. Both cameras were bought less than 1 month. Sigh! cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif

ps: just got someone said it could be just the flickering of flourescent light, not camera's malfunction? i WISH it's true!!

I don't see anything wrong with the pics.

If you are referring to the brownish band that seems to appear on top (left most pic) and bottom (middle pic) part of the frame then you can just relax. That's your fluorescent light pulsing. Your burst rate is high enough to catch the pulse resulting in the banding. Our naked eyes cannot see the pulsing as it is too fast (around 50Mhz if I'm not mistaken) and we think that it is a steady light. It's normal.

Thanks man! I'd tried shooting fast shutter outdoor just now (the dawn!), and it's fine! What a relief!!! rclxm9.gif

Getting SEL50F18 in around rm750, good buying?
*
My friend just bought one for RM730. biggrin.gif
It's very sharp lens, overall very good image quality. The color is richer and more contrast than the kit 16-50, and of course much sharper. Now her A6000's 24MP really shines! icon_rolleyes.gif

When comparing with my FE 24-70, the sony zeiss has a more comfortable (natural look) color and overall feel to my eyes. However, the zoom lens sharpness is behind this cheap fast aps-c prime. biggrin.gif

Anyone used Digieye tripod before? Any good? Searching around google, can't find much info. Is it a Malaysia brand?
I saw lawyat selling a Digieye TR-7800 for RM89, it looks pretty tough and its rubber head actually works quite smooth on video panning and tilting for a cheap tripod as this one. I was wondering anyone use it before and are you satisfy with it? I'm thinking to recommend my friend to buy this rather cheap and consider lightweight tripod for her A6000.

Scratches on lens? Ouch..
However I kinda agree on the flickering part as fluorescent tubes flicker around 100-120hz frequency. If you're shooting indoors, try bumping shutter speed to compensate, otherwise try shooting outdoors. However I doubt repairs can be done on the scratches.

scratches how to repair....now that 2 weeks old E 50 F1.8 look like a 10 year old lens. cry.gif

ya, there won't be a NEXT TIME! i'll protect my camera and lenses much more carefully now! lesson learnt.
btw, the lens is perfectly non harm (the glass etc), just the surface was scratched that's all. No more nice looking, but still perfectly usable lens. laugh.gif

Rm730? Mind to tell where ur friend bought? I'm looking for Black unit, just can't stand with using black nex7 body with silver metal lens..  brows.gif

We bought it from Fotokem at Midvalley just about 2 weeks ago. That time, they said they also had a black version in store. Hope you can get good price. Good luck! For less then 1K, it's really a no brainer to get this sharp fast prime with OSS. icon_idea.gif

too bad... it's silver... i thought want the 16-50 to do smooth video zooming
*
On video, whenever you zoom, it won't look professional anymore. Camera movement is by physically moving the camera. I'm not sure if I use the term correctly here, experts please don't shoot me tongue.gif . The reason behind is in order to maintain the same DOF (this one, maybe wrong term. I'm no good at scientific definition. I only know "the feel of it", the feel of subject distance), so that the feel of objects distance remain the same.
I mean, therefore no need "smooth" zooming also not that big a deal. biggrin.gif

That said, the 55210 is actually not bad if you actually *want* a telezoom, which is usually the "next step" if you really don't know what to get. A lot of second hand units in garage sales so check it out.
The OSS and AF works efficient? Since it's a tele, especially the OSS. This lens is damn cheap now, very tempting to get it as a lightweight small tele when travel. biggrin.gif

Is the SEL 2470z really not worth the money? if it doesn't, I might forget the thought of changing to FE system...
*
I think major points:
Pros: zeiss color (rich, comfortable), relatively tough build quality (i just recently accidentally let the A7S with this lens hit with the A6000 with 50 F1.8 lens. And the result is, this lens just slight scratch, where the 50 F1.8 got some surface dropped and some wording also disappeared).

cons: sharpness a little weak.

---------

however, i'm interested to know why this lens can become your determine decision making target. Why not other lenses?

Got my FDn 50mm 1.4 and am quite impressed by it!

Need some tips on MF-ing though: harder than I thought! Peaking is nearly useless to me AFAIK since at f4 or larger apertures it seems to be quite inaccurate. I use the focus magnification method but then the peaking deactivates when I'm zoomed in. Anyway to fix this? Was at Dataran earlier when it was really bright, couldn't nail focus because the EVF wasn't very crisp because of the bright weather ):
*
I think the peaking is still there when zooming in, just that it becomes less sensitive and hardly displaying any lines. I still seeing "a little" lines around when zooming in. biggrin.gif
