The speaker phone quality actually sucks. Can't really hear what the caller was saying. Now I miss my iPhone 5, much much better call performance.

QUOTE(RegentCid @ Jul 22 2014, 08:01 AM) I think the problem lies if you switched off location services before the update. It keeps show up a message that you have switched off location services in the previous version of android. Would you like to turn it back on? Sth similiar. I tried with Google maps, Waze, no nothing. No GPS signal at all. Though it lets you have an option to use WiFi/mobile network to show location. But GPS is no go. I'm trying to reset the phone again and will update here later. |

QUOTE(briantwj @ Jul 22 2014, 08:16 AM) Pls do update. I'm facing same issue wif u. But i did turn on my location setting before update. Now gps test, papago. All cant detect location. Google maps can coz using data. QUOTE(jolokia @ Jul 22 2014, 08:23 AM) How come i don't face any GPS problem ?? All Google map navigation & waze also works perfectly sui sui ? I've tried everything possible I could before, resetting, setting this and that High performance, battery saving, GPS only, to no avail. Don't give wrong information for people not to update just because you don't know how to set the GPS after update. Check my previous post how to set the GPS after update. After resetting for the 3rd time, I chose allow location access at the setup page, and now seems to be working. Phewww.. Will do further testing on the apps later. Charging the phone now. |

QUOTE(jolokia @ Jul 22 2014, 09:48 AM) Tap & hold it a bit longer (till u feel the little vibration &/or see the widget expand a bit) drag it down to the dock. Bro lol.I know how things work. It just won't go down. A simple reboot solved the problem. Digging bugs. This stable release is not stable. At all. Web browsing seem faster though. And performance is still top notch. |

GPS confirmed got problem. Not about setting.
I reset my phone and the GPS is working, but once turn off GPS and turn back on, or fiddle with the GPS settings, it'll go useless again. Do not update. I repeat do not update to v18 until we can confirm further on this issue. |

Another bug found. When I set the default home page to about:blank it always reverts back to the original homepage set by the phone.

QUOTE(jack3218 @ Jul 22 2014, 07:02 PM) Lol XD I should do that as well. Anyway when u switch to 2g mode only no more signal drop. Just can't use 3g. I'm wondering that you guys that have call drop problems updated the phone OTA or via desktop? Mine seems fine (Maxis user), the only thing is that the GPS works at first, but once you turn it off and turn it back on, it goes weird. Loading GPS seemed like forever, especially in Waze. Still haven't find a way to resolve this, maybe I should do full ROM download and install? |

QUOTE(jack3218 @ Jul 22 2014, 07:10 PM) U update mine through ota did a factory restored as well, yet the signal drop still occur. And to be more precise I using hotlink prepaid 1gb data QUOTE(andrekua2 @ Jul 22 2014, 07:19 PM) I think location matters. Yeap, I'm in Sabah, no such problem. I think the GPS problem is due to because I was in indoors, just tested outdoor, seem fine. You are in Klang Valley I suppose? Some in Penang didnt have such problem. He's in Sabah I think if his location is correct. Right now Klang Valley is definitely affected. The only single bug now is that I can't set my browser default page to about:blank which previously worked fine. Anyone can enlighten me? I really like the default browser more than Chrome. |

QUOTE(deadravel @ Jul 23 2014, 11:34 AM) Dev ROM any better than conventional ROM? Or the other way around? I found out that there's dual system boot in the Mi3? When I was in the recovery, I was given the option to choose boot to system 1 or system 2 |

QUOTE(deadravel @ Jul 23 2014, 11:49 AM) pros: But seems like two same versions of stable Rom was installed on both system. (Tried booting into system 2 just now) Does this take up a lot of space I wonder? How can I clear it to save up space?1. dev rom have the latest update (1 week 1 OTA update) so u can try out the latest feature they roll out everyweek 2. dev rom is pre-rooted. u juz need to enable root permission at security app 3. dev rom gets more themes to choose from (many forumers claims this) cons: 1. not stable. in terms of bugs. and mayb some apps will crash ---- dual boot is build into miui recovery. to use or not is ur own preference . u can flash 1 system with dev rom and keep 1 with stable rom. and swap around the system to play with. |
