Yo, no brand fanboyism here please.
No brands are perfect, especially in terms of software. My flagship Z Ultra also have bugs, in terms of software.

Reboot = restart, which means no need for the extra work to manually turn off and on back again. laugh.gif

How much is the free RAM after setting up the phone?

After handing the phone to my friend and he setup the phone today, free RAM is only about 500mb even without new apps installed. Normal?

Try allow permission in Security app > Permission. Make sure your WLAN/3G connection is on without drop.

Happened after using for few days or even after reboot? My Mi3 free ram will go about 400-600 range (after clearing cache) after using for few days. If it's after reboot then normally it's 800Mb - 1.1Gb free.

Call your friend to ignore that.

Android memory management are different compare to the past.

Weird.

I don't have those problems at all.
But then again, FB kept having so many updates these few weeks.
Can you check what is the version number for FB & Messenger app on your phone?

Agreed.

You can try opening lots of apps until you feel really slow, then you can see what is meant by efficient memory management laugh.gif

MIUI was build and optimized on the system level. With smooth UI, chances the developer to keep more MIUI apps on the RAM is higher. This is to make sure the apps to be called even faster. So, each of the brand have their own developer developing their system/UI with the different end game. So to compare free RAM on diff system is not accurate. The closest will be when both running the same AOSP rom.
