QUOTE(patrick94 @ Jul 20 2014, 08:48 PM) Actually reboot and power off got different? Reboot = restart, which means no need for the extra work to manually turn off and on back again. Cause see previous post when facing bug, try reboot and not on off our device... Hmm I'm sorry if it is a noob question... |

How much is the free RAM after setting up the phone?
After handing the phone to my friend and he setup the phone today, free RAM is only about 500mb even without new apps installed. Normal? |

QUOTE(Boy96 @ Jul 20 2014, 10:45 PM) How much is the free RAM after setting up the phone? Happened after using for few days or even after reboot? My Mi3 free ram will go about 400-600 range (after clearing cache) after using for few days. If it's after reboot then normally it's 800Mb - 1.1Gb free. After handing the phone to my friend and he setup the phone today, free RAM is only about 500mb even without new apps installed. Normal? |

Can you check what is the version number for FB & Messenger app on your phone? QUOTE(blacktubi @ Jul 20 2014, 10:56 PM) Agreed. You can try opening lots of apps until you feel really slow, then you can see what is meant by efficient memory management |

Oddly enough just after he told that, I check my phone (Nexus 5, 5 month use filled with apps and all), got more than 1GB of free RAM leh.. MIUI was build and optimized on the system level. With smooth UI, chances the developer to keep more MIUI apps on the RAM is higher. This is to make sure the apps to be called even faster. So, each of the brand have their own developer developing their system/UI with the different end game. So to compare free RAM on diff system is not accurate. The closest will be when both running the same AOSP rom. |
