Comparison between Mi3 stock browser and Google Chrome.
By using two most popular benchmarking tool, Sunspider and Peacekeeper, below is the result:

Test environment:
Factory load of MI3 with OTA (MIUI-JXDMYBD14.0)
Latest Chrome browser from Playstore
Stock MIUI browser
Both data and cache cleared prior test

Sunspider Javascript benchmark
(lower is better)

MIUI Stock browser (V1.0) - 728.8ms
Chrome (v35.0.1916.138) - 754.1ms

Peacekeeper
(higher is better)

MIUI Stock browser (V1.0) - 1182
Chrome (v35.0.1916.138) - 986

RAM usage (5 tabs opened with Google.com.my page)
(lower is better)

MIUI Stock browser (V1.0) - 113Mb
Chrome (v35.0.1916.138) - 98Mb

The test concludes, MIUI stock browser is performing a slight better on both tools, but Chrome utilized a little less RAM than MIUI stock browser.
For some reason, Peacekeeper detect MIUI stock browser as Safari 4.0(are they using the same engine?)
Pls see below below screen capture.

that's what I think. my first impression when I started taking photos and see the outcome. you could be right. maybe I'm just too noob to set it right. your the best sifu. hail to you.

i own both devices. i hv to agree that s3 camera is ready on the fly to capture instantaneous picture. the autofocus seems to be better than mi3. this is known limitation with Mi3 autofocus. probably it could be better through software upgrade and seems the hardware is a well known Sony exmor CMOS cam, i dont think hardware is the limiter.

for Mi3 cam, to get a good picture, u need to play around with the advance setting. quality wise (with the right setting), MI3 picture is better in term of details, lesser noise reduction artifacts and the color is more natural.

Yeah already told him that, his one is freshly setup.. Just got the phone what.. Oddly enough just after he told that, I check my phone (Nexus 5, 5 month use filled with apps and all), got more than 1GB of free RAM leh..
*
MIUI was build and optimized on the system level. With smooth UI, chances the developer to keep more MIUI apps on the RAM is higher. This is to make sure the apps to be called even faster. So, each of the brand have their own developer developing their system/UI with the different end game. So to compare free RAM on diff system is not accurate. The closest will be when both running the same AOSP rom.

I'm a middle age man lar, not yet old.

I've keen hearing and always clean my ears except when my wife ask me to do something, sometimes I cannot hear at all.... whistling.gif

Its the call audio quality via loudspeaker that is in question. Subpar loudspeaker call audio quality with sharp noise and almost no cancellation to the other side makes it difficult to hear thus need louder audio. When its quiet on my side (S4), then audio volume need not be high.
*
Did you use any kind of casing that block the noice cancelation mic?
One at the top, the other one near to camera flash.

Hey v22 user, so far its OK? Planning to upgrade later. Coz v14 is stable now scare v22 is not stable than v14.
*
its depend (i dont know why some has issue). i updated mine yesterday and tested all basic function and it looks good. Only thing is that my weather app doesn't detect location, but it was fixed after i cleared the app data.

i updated the ROM through stock recovery. prior that, I cleared cache and data. so it was a clean install, i would say.
