Google Now Launcher works perfectly on Xiaomi. There's 2 apk, one for Kit kat version and another one for non-kit kat. Im using the non kit kat one

Not recommended. However, there's some maxis users who are lucky enough and don't have any issues after upgrade. If you want to try your luck, then go ahead. But do make sure you know how to recover to the previous version if you find out you cannot bear with the new rom.

Why not you download the whole ROM and flash it - DON'T WIPE YOUR DATA & CACHE YET!!
Just download the complete ROM and flash it.

After seeing so many people keep asking the same questions regarding the latest stable Kitkat rom, I thought I could provide some guides for you all.

For people who want to know about the details and changelog of the new Kitkat rom, check this thread

*No longer exist due to the complaints from Maxis users*

For Maxis users who are considering whether to update or not, read through those threads before you make any decision.

http://en.miui.com/thread-29221-1-1.html
http://en.miui.com/thread-29562-1-1.html

For Maxis users who regret after updating, 4 solutions:

1. Do not use wifi/data when you are calling or receiving calls.
2. Flash back to previous Malaysia stable rom JXDMYBD14.0.
3. Change telco
4. Ditch the phone and do not turn back (the extreme way). Yes. I know I am harsh about this. But to me, it's kind of ridiculous for Xiaomi to release such a "stable" rom before testing it in Malaysia thoroughly.

Note: Please read all of them. You may find it wasting your time on reading, but prevent is better than cure.

We knew that already. But as you said, it's just a temporary solution. This is very annoying and troublesome. So we need a permenant fix.

for those in KK 4.4.3
your google now will FC no matter what.
somehow this is happen for Dev rom update recently (from 4.4.2 to 4.4.3)
so you need to install the google search in 4.4.3 version.

maybe just me, but since some one start on that topic,
below is my Source for google apps for 4.4.3.

The KitKat release really spoiled everything. What were they thinking before releasing?

By the way if they release a new update can i just simply update from dev rom? Or must i revert my phone back to stable rom first?

As much as i like the dev rom, i fear that they might void our warranty for installing dev rom.

Each of stable rom and dev rom have their own update respectively. If you want to stick to dev rom, just wait for their weekly OTA update and you can download it accordingly. As simple as that.

If you want to try the stable rom update, then you will need to flash back to the stable rom in order to do that.

as long as you don't go over clock your cpu, it won't void the warranty.
and it is safe to go to any ROM you want, as long as you don't over do it.. like overclock the cpu gpu..
change the voltage... (all those a bit advance la, some need kernal code and xiaomi didn't release it to anyone, so XDAforum very hate xiaomi actually.. hahah)
