In case you missed it, Frank Welker reprised his roles as Soundwave and Megatron (which he voiced in the original Transformers cartoon series) in Sunday night's episode of Robot Chicken. You can catch the full episode on Cartoon Network's website http://www.adultswim.com/video/?episodeID=...1144b67d3220065 , but keep in mind that the show is intended for viewers 17 and up.

Only just watched the movie at GSC last night with the family. Great stuff, but too loud for the kids.

Worth a second watch, you can never get the same experience watching the DVD at home.

Overall I think this movie suffers from very bad editing.

The IMAX version shown more footage!

It seems they put the pieces slowly, IMAX then DVD then Blue-Ray maybe...

I think if we wait for another 10yrs there's probably a transformers trilogy coming out in Blue-Ray\HD-DVD.

DVD will probably release next year. If i'm not mistaken there are other countries that still not release the movie until november!

that's what Region coding is for.
take an example:
Disturbia was only just recently released here, but the DVD(region 1) has already come out in the states.
just because it hasnt been shown in certain countries, doesnt mean the DVD will take extra long to come out smile.gif

I wonder... how come there's not a single info on google and wikipedia about the DVD?? Most of the time the results from google is about the 1986 movie... not the recent film.

On 25 July 2007, Chandra Cogburn - one of the composers who worked on the Transformers score - announced via email to The Knight Shift that "There will be an album of Transformers score coming out soon. I do not know the details, as I am not working on it. Thanks so much for appreciating the music, and all our hard work!..."

On August 6, 2007, Sony BMG Customer Service confirmed in an e-mail that they "have no information because this is not a Sony BMG release". Also, Diamond Select confirmed not to be associated with a score release on the 2007 score.

According to Michael Bay's official website, there are plans to release the score sometime in the future, though probably not by Sony Music since this was a Paramount/Dreamworks film. The possible source of this confusion may be that Sony owns the rights to the 1986 Transformers animated movie, but they do not own the rights to the 2007 Transformers movie. Thus, previously-mentioned Sony releases may refer to the 1986 score.

Paramount and DreamWorks Animation Each Declare Exclusive Support for HD DVD

Movies Distributed by Paramount Home Entertainment Including Paramount
Pictures, DreamWorks Animation SKG, DreamWorks Pictures, Paramount Vantage,
Nickelodeon Movies and MTV Films to be Released Exclusively in HD DVD
Exclusive Program To Begin with Release of "Blades of Glory," Followed by
"Transformers" and "Shrek the Third," Films Representing More Than $1.5
Billion in Combined Worldwide Box Office

    LOS ANGELES, Aug. 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Paramount Pictures, a
unit of Viacom Inc. (NYSE: VIA and VIA.B) and DreamWorks Animation SKG
(NYSE: DWA), each announced today that they will exclusively support the
next-generation HD DVD format on a worldwide basis. The exclusive HD DVD
commitment will include all movies distributed by Paramount Pictures,
DreamWorks Pictures, Paramount Vantage, Nickelodeon Movies and MTV Films,
as well as movies from DreamWorks Animation, which are distributed
exclusively by Paramount Home Entertainment.
The companies each said that the decision to distribute exclusively in
the HD DVD format resulted from an extensive evaluation of current market
offerings, which confirmed the clear benefits of HD DVD, particularly its
market-ready technology and lower manufacturing costs. Paramount Home
Entertainment will launch its exclusive HD DVD program with the release of
the blockbuster comedy hit "Blades of Glory" on August 28th and follow with
two of the biggest grossing movies of the year "Transformers" and "Shrek
the Third". These three titles alone represent more than $1.5 billion in
box office ticket sales worldwide.
"The combination of Paramount and DreamWorks Animation brings a
critical mass of current box office hits to consumers with a line-up of
live action and animated films that are perfect for HD DVD," stated Brad
Grey, Chairman and CEO of Paramount Pictures, which is currently the
leading studio in domestic box office. "Part of our vision is to
aggressively extend our movies beyond the theater, and deliver the quality
and features that appeal to our audience. I believe HD DVD is not only the
affordable high quality choice for consumers, but also the smart choice for
Paramount."
"We decided to release "Shrek the Third" and other DreamWorks Animation
titles exclusively on HD DVD because we believe it is the best format to
bring high quality home entertainment to a key segment of our audience --
families," stated DreamWorks Animation CEO, Jeffrey Katzenberg. "We believe
the combination of this year's low-priced HD DVD players and the commitment
to release a significant number of hit titles in the fall makes HD DVD the
best way to view movies at home."
With the rapid increase of HD TV screens in households, and audiences
wanting to enjoy the total entertainment experience, HD DVD has emerged as
the most affordable way for consumers to watch their movies in high
definition. In addition to pristine quality, HD DVD also offers consumers
the chance to personalize the movie-watching experience, to interact with
their movies and even to connect with a community of other fans.
Paramount Home Entertainment will issue new releases day and date as
well as catalog titles exclusively on HD DVD. Today's announcement does not
include films directed by Steven Spielberg as his films are not exclusive
to either format.

Transformers is HD-DVD exclusive! Also, from the box-office trackin folks at Boxofficemojo.com, Transformers are projected to cross into the USD315-320 million range, thanks to the IMAX re-release. this in tur makes it the third most successful 2007 movie behind Spider-Man 3, and Shrek The Third.

"Nelson" over at Michael Bay's Official Site writes that the "Transformers" DVD will come in two versions: one regular disc with no special features other than a director's commentary; a "multi-disc" version with said director's commentary and "tons of extra stuff."
