Finished watching all matches from TWT Globals 2017.
Insane matches, insane skills from all the players, insane hype.

Qudans totally deserved to be World Champion, fought his heart out. Not only he did it with one of the hardest characters in the game, but he did it after having such an absence in the international scene. This was a guy back in the T5 days that was pointed out by everyone to be the best one day, along with Knee. But because of wrist injuries and the fact that he developed RSI, he never got there.

To see him today as the best in the world, that's just one of those magical fairy tales you hear in sports. He's beat JDCR FOUR times in a row, CLEAN. He beat JDCR's peer-pressured Heihaichi even. He reseted the bracket to beat Saint who has been playing his absolute best since CEO 2017, hell Saint probably was playing better than he did in last year's TWT finals.

Top 8 plays (about every match here is amazing)




Best match probably goes to Qudans vs Saint in the finals.

JimmyJ vs Nobi was heart pumping insanity as well and is a close second.


Just to add one final thing, Qudans unleashed a FRAME-PERFECT EWGF in the finals against Saint. The fact that he went for this on the PS4 (which has high input lag), on clutch, up on the reset and grand prize on the line is mind boggling - https://clips.twitch.tv/GracefulAbrasiveWatermelonFloof

For those that don't understand;

A frame perfect EWGF is 14 frames. Jack's df+2 is -14 on block.
So to execute an EWGF off blocking Jack's df+2 requires:

Frame 1: Devil Jin comes out of recovery, f
Frame 2: n
Frame 3: d
Frame 4: df2
Frame 5~13: animation of EWGF
Frame 14: electric hits

If Qudans was just 1 frame off or his input was even messed up by an extra down or down-forward, then not only would the EWGF be blocked it MAY even be whiff'd. This is one of the hardest move to perform in the game, only move harder is Kazuya's PEWGF.

Some people are claiming that the patch has improved input lag on PS4. Not sure what to say about that yet, haven't tried it out.

Also, effin-finally lobby rematch is now implemented. 6 months to implement a 20 year old feature, ffs Harada. But thank you regardless.

still cant play as Geese I can see Steam players are already playing as Geese but what happened to PS4????

Geese somehow feels like a spam machine, even though they've used his old school command list format which is good but again he feels good

90% of his moves are unsafe and is punishable however. The interesting take here is that majority of his moves has push back, which means there will be characters with short legs/arms that should have trouble punishing.

yeah on top of that his 1+2 block punish is SO DAMN GOOD + his f1+2 launcher is almost unpunishable

Yeah and his d1+3 throw is unbreakable on the ground. It's guaranteed if you cannot tech roll, sheesh!

Very solid character overall. The fact that his arms are longer than Miguel probably piss a lot of Miguel players off too, because THOSE were his arms in the previous game lol...

exactly I myself is a Mig player Geese's 1 1 2 punish is just too good !! its kinda like Kaz's jab punish but Kaz throws opponent on ground while he pushes opponent back with a frame stun, IF geese player is fast enough then can do a d4, f3 or f1 (even if not fast still can do as D4 is another invincible attack) so right after punish D4 is a bonus guarrantied hit which makes it like 4 hit punisher xD

found another interesting thing that is counter punish 1+2, after hitting with this one geese can do a b4,4 for a screw + follow up I mean yeah he lacks in good launchers but his ground game is solid enough compared to Akuma.

His damage output is potentially as high as Akuma too.
