If the guest character is REALLY Kiryu Kazuma, I'm so buying the crap out of the season pass.

Sold my HRAP 3 long ago and stopped fighting games for a while. Now coming back to them, I'm debating between the HRAP 4 Kai and the T7.

Alright... game is in my hands. Some early impressions;

Arcade mode is an absolute joke. Each character has like 2 paragraphs of prologue and then a 10 seconds ending which isn't even CG. What makes it worse is that the Arcade mode isn't like before where you choose a character and fight through 10 or so stages to beat the boss at the end. No, it's basically gives you one or two fights based on the prologue scenario for the chosen character and wham, that's it! doh.gif

There's an actual "story" mode of course and I would say it's passable. Nothing near the likes of Injustice 2 at all though. Also a lot of characters were omitted where as in T6 and T5, almost EVERY character had a role (no matter how silly it was) in the story.

That's my gripe aside, the mechanics is really a return to form. Definitely getting a lot of T5 and T3 vibes here. Playing on the Pro, so it's almost a dead locked 60fps (there are a few drops during stage transitions but since they cannot be interacted with, it's fine). Played a few online matches and the load times are pretty long though, heard there will be a patch to speed things up on this but not sure when that's coming.

Wow Reviewer copy??

Yup.

Really digging the game thus far aside from a few downfalls. While the content is no where near Injustice 2, I think what is available in T7 is adequate.

Now I'm just bracing myself for when the game unlocks for everyone in a few hours, THEN I can judge how well the online will be. At this moment, I'm just getting my ass kicked by people from shoryuken or I'm beating people from IGN (go figure, button mashers).

Well, here's some bad news from my end;

I tried playing for about 2+ hours yesterday night and guess what? Out of 28 matches, I only got into 11 matches without being REJECTED.

Yes, you read that right. The whole ranked match system in T7 online is kind of a silly situation. Because people WILL reject you if you are higher rank than them (like even if you're just one level higher lol) or if they see they are fighting a character they don't like, this takes FOREVER to find a freaking match. Currently, it's a pussified cest pool of players now on ranked matches.

Harada has acknowledged this "issue" and says that they will change it in due time (whenever that is). But honestly, this shouldn't have been an issue in the first place. It's an inherent design flaw that waste people's time.

Hope there's an update in the future

How's the lag and latency?

U r using 100 Mbps unifi line right?

I am using 100 Mbps at home
*
Don't know when that update is coming. Harada says on his twitter that it is intended so that beginners can play ranked matches.
That makes no sense what so ever when there's a mode for non-ranked match where ALL beginners should go to in the first place lol. doh.gif

Fairly okay, not IJ2 stable however. But generally playable for most of the matches I've managed not to be rejected in. I'm on a 100mbps line yes.

that 600mb day 1 patch didn't fix that???
*
There's nothing to fix, the mode is DESIGNED like that. All Harada said is that they will "adjust" it in due time.

Tekken 7 input lag on PS4/PS4 Pro = 120ms.

It's barely passable only because it's a 60fps game.

i only realize this after reading an article about this and combo can be done more ~slower~ for beginner like me  biggrin.gif

Yes, theres a wider buffer for string combos. Slightly unfortunately however is for players who has a "poking" playstyle, it makes for a weird transistion for cancelling and juggling.
Not a big issue ultimately I think. Otherwise pros like Knee would have been raging since 2 years ago.

The special fight is a b*tch to win.. Have to "cheat" to win..

I almost smashed my arcade stick trying to win that fight

Now my trophy achievement at 87%.. Need help for some like tournament wins
*
Spam EWGF via story assist is it?

Honestly, I don't know who was more bullshit to win... Jinpachi in T5 or Akuma here. And I meant winning in the "proper" way.

Patch 1.02 out in Japan.

Biggest change:
- Player's chosen character and info has been hidden. All you see now is the name of the player you are going up against.

Should have been the standard to begin with. Now they just need to implement a harsh penalty for those who love to rage quit. Maybe a temporary ban on ranked matches for "x" amount of days or something.

There are a few more minor tweaks apparently, but not sure what they are.

And yes, they are working on reducing the load times as well.

Patch 1.02 definitely has improved the online stability. Had 15 matches yesterday and never had a single dc. Even had 6 matches of 5 bars connection, really can feel tekken at its best.

Load times are still unchanged though unfortunately.

Ranked matches are now mostly playable.

But tournament mode? Lmao. I don't even know how they are going to improve it, it's impossible.

Nah man u didn't spam with me, if u remember I was playing as Dragunov

I am right now totally pissed off about Akuma spammers sleep.gif they are seriously garbage of the game, they keep spamming fireballs to kill the time & when I get close to them after passing countless fireballs, they either use sweep kick or grab or hurricane or something similar which pushes back sleep.gif this is seriously getting frustratingly annoying

@bold

This bullshit d+4 (correct me if I'm wrong) is indeed pure bullshit. It staggers and does a shit ton of damage for a single low atk. As a Hwaorang main, I've been damn frustrated over the last few weeks trying not to get caught in this move. Thankfully it makes me double down on how to master low parries.

ya low parry...but i try practice mode 10 times only work 1 time, i dont know what is the condition....

the zaibatsu forum too hard for me lol

sample combo 1st set i very confident......now moving to 2nd set still hard for me need alot practice....

yes i want to learn all together,..if not i just getting kill by pro player

although yesterday stream i found a new combo that not in combo list
*
You press D+F 2 frames before a low attack connects. It's difficult to explain to beginners who hasn't yet learn frame data, but basically - just look at the low atk and just before it connects, tap D+F. Don't mash the buttons because it will lead to a wrong command and thus not being able to parry. Took me 2 hours of constant parrying to get it right.

And honestly, I don't recommend learning several sets of combos at a go. Learn one, memorize it, THEN apply it in a real match. The problem with learning so many sets is that you will forget all of them during a match, which leads to you being bodied again and again even if you get several windows of opportunities to hammer on your opponent.

Remember, the most effective form of combat is to have no fancy bullshit. Most top players and pros don't even use more than 5 combo sets and most don't even touch the 10 hit combos presets.

There is no short cut to learning Tekken (or any fighting game actually), no such thing as "I want to learn all at once" and then expect not to be beaten even by an average player. You need to learn what is effective and how to apply it. Good luck! smile.gif

i got eliza code havent redeem yet and she is another powerful character

btw any idea can we transform kazumi to devil form? not fair in treasure battle...can shoot laser straight 30-40% hp gone lol
*
To be fair, the laser is extremely easy to dodge. You just need to tap up or down, the window to dodge it is pretty big.

Now another level of sarcasm I am facing :\
a guy whose ID is "suplexcityf599 or something like this,
I get 3 bars with him & match connection remains decent, when he gets a damage of almost 60% it starts to lag & during lag he starts to spam Lucky Chloe's some sort of med & low mixup which is a in a form of dance or something, he keep doing that as during lag its almost impossible to parry the low one,
I wonder how he actually makes the game laggy like this? :\
*
Usually when facing assholes like these I either:

1) Just lose and quit, don't need to waste time.
2) Backdash cancel and sidestep like no tomorrow while doing cheap ass pokes of mine (all characters has atleast ONE cheap poke).

I mean, what do you expect out of people like this? It's either you lag switch yourself also or just die trying.

btw do anyone know this guy? he probably is from somewhere nearby as I was getting 5bars with him
PSN - ABEL_WANG
*
Definitely MY or SG player. Saw this guy in the tourney mode before, didn't get to match up with him because apparently "DC" when everyone is done with their match except him and another player. Caused the whole tourney to freeze and "waiting to connect to server". Waste of effin' time.

Well, at least it is a billion times better than Tekken 6.... I mean, nothing compares to that shit fest back in the PS3 days. So if you think T7 is bad, consider yourself lucky.
