My recent car journey is similar to yours (except no GF but wife).

I have just replaced my 13 yrs old Wira with Preve Premiun last week. Overall, I will give it an 8 out of 10. Power and stability are my 2 main likes. Spacious interior.

Dislikes are:
* hard landing on road hump
* engine a bit loud (but this is European design where they prefer some noise from the engine. Japanese design prefers a quiet engine)
* high back limiting back viewing on the mirror
* ?

On your question on the gearbox, no comment. Sorry.

P/S On getting an imported car vs Preve, I did some price comparisons (M'sia vs overseas). About 30% of what one pays in M'sia for an imported car is tax. My frugal brain cells complained that I get nothing for that additional 30% price, no extra features in the car, just as tax. So for the same price as a basic imported car, one can get Preve Premium with MANY added features! E.g. air bags, GPS, turbo, etc etc.

I must say,
It's actually a self preference type of car, every car also got their negative side i believe.
Try not to look down on Proton and i think we will have a pleasant experience with our Preve!

I called SC, i explained and they told me as long as dont exceed 1500km.
Cross finger that day no problem arise. 
Funny part is sometimes i hear the sound, sometimes it seems like its gone.

Interesting. I don't get the helicopter sound and maybe that is because I have not braked when going at 60 kph.

Do I read it correctly that this free brake helicopter sound repair is only for up to 1500 km and after that it will be on own account? Hope not.

Anyone has the answer, when does the soft turbo kicks off?
I mean the Rpm.

My friend told me 3.5Rpm,
My SA told me 2.0Rpm and above.

Just want to make sure so that i can keep myself a limit. LoL

I restraint myself from above 2k Rpm currently.
But i think its quite easy to go over 2k Rpm right?

Yea. Im currently doing below 2k Rpm.
But traveling to Kedah soon, so i dont think can maintain 2k Rpm dy. haha! 

This few days i travel to office, I press softly. 2k Rpm at most.

Actually not so bad la.. Just that expect slow start after green light.

Other than that, pleasant ride to office and back home!

Maybe just change from Manual to Auto. Thats why left leg feel easy, thats why pleasant ride. HAHAHA!

I was about to try but Manual book says dont exceed 120km/h before 1k service.
*Engine hasn't kick in, to confirm brake fully function, engine oil not full or smth, ?(this is those i heard around not to try exceed 120km/h before 1k. Myth??

from what im experiencing, based my usage of highway which has some ascending and declining sections, in the auto-cruise mode, engine-braking is triggered when declining, trying to maintain the speed as preset.

maybank interest 3.03 % is it good ? can get lower?

P/S Need feedback from you all. Please revert whether you top up to get the synthium (instead of Mach 5) or you take the Mach 5 and pay for the synthium?

SC mutiara damansara told me can topup but i refused to do so. also i was arguing with them during my 1st service... proton said free EO and they gave me mineral mach5 as promised by proton. service advisor said if don't wont top up then just use mineral for 10k mileage!

Just get a good washing liquid which the PH is not too strong for our car...

then get a good cloth, doesn't have to be expensive... I used something from DIY shop that costs less than RM20 for both washing and drying cloths....

I just wash it weekly or at least bi-weekly....

I just hate to wash 1 part - RIM!!!
