boss, i'm using r3 bk at the moment and i never regret getting it at all. only problem is when you are going over bump or go into basement or roof parking. the bodykit is very low and that was why i decided to to change my rims to 17" with (215/50/17) tires even though my preve is 2 months old. yet, i still scratch the front bumper from time to time. go do balancing/alignment also have to tell the shop please be careful where to place the jack... my side skirting cracked when i did on-wheel balancing 2 weeks ago

just to share with you, my car cannot park inside terminal one seremban, ramp too high. palm mall seremban only can park first level roof parking. old wing 1utama open space parking also have to be very2 careful scratched once. there's another forumer here said his r3 front bumper scratched at paradigm mall

speaking about warranty, r3 ppl at proton COE said if using r3 17" rims won't void the warranty. proton edar SC senawang taipan said void warranty. previously my car cannot park inside the house (car porch too high) so just go ahead and change the rims

again like i said, no regret going through all these... except for the side skirt cracked and colleagues laughing at me whenever my car going through bump
*
i think that's why the people say not a good idea to install r3 bodykit.. yeah.. indeed it's was really improve the exterior very much.. but not practically in daily use.. bump, car park, always must be super slow and careful when driving over these kind of places.. yes.. 17" will help, but not much..

1 advantage, good feeling on own car due to better looking of it.
Many disadvantages, worry this and that, costly..

for me, remain stocks original body will do.. hahaha.. of course, it's no harm for others to install bodykit la.. coz everyone do have different needs ma..

agreed with you boss... not practically in daily use. not only that, every time and always have to pre-plan where to go for parking smile.gif

*
previous drive proton tiara and proton iswara.. seldom got face the problem of bumper hit bodykit.

after i purchase preve, i always scare when go over bumper or car park.. im stock original body, didnt modified any on my car.. car park too steep, i have to brake and drive it up slowly.. cannot do like others accelerating and go up.. sure kena hentam one.. haiz.. when go down also same situation.. go some car park in shopping mall, always im have to be slower turtle..

cant imagine those drive with install any bodykit on preve with 16"

Actually only reason I wanted the BK coz I think it looks really nice on the Preve. No worries, appreciate the heads up Mr. Judge! Well, we'll see, if it gets too annoying perhaps I'll have it removed after a while.  hmm.gif

They fit as per original specification right so removing it should not damage the body? Hmmm was looking forward to it but now i'm more worried instead so either install or sell it off biggrin.gif
*
depend on u.. but since u had decided and paid ady, money should not be your concern.. just feel heartpain only when get some scratches.. but anyway, drive it slowly when over road bump or go up & down multi level car park.. Really SLOW speed.

QUOTE(mengsuan @ Sep 30 2014, 06:10 PM)
Yup that's me! Paradigm mall was first incident. The Akademi Etiqa then Genting Hotel parking, then Wisma Sime Darby and many more. We can almost populate a list of ramps that our Preve with R3 body kit cannot pass through without touching the bumper.

Fortunately I have learned to stop or slow down at ramps and speed bumps, so far no crack yet, only scratches at the bottom of the bumper.
*
even your preve LE also get scratched.. r3 really looks nice but its pain for us if get scratches.. coz out there is many road bump or multi level car park or any similar situation.. plus preve LE is 17". higher a little bit than normal 16".

Need recommendation of dash camera, so far many websites recommend the G1W (or its variant) hmm.gif

using wayway V270.. not that good and not that bad.. but guarantee not worth for that pricing.. just i get lower discount price due to ppl get it from application of hong leong credit card.. i get at rm160.. so still ok..

suggest probably go to papago go safe series or garmin.. but branded is more expensive.. depend on budget.. but out there many ppl use others brand also..

genius car DVR also not that bad.. but still almost same price or higher than papago

I'm considering the G1WH due to the good reviews hmm.gif It seems like it has a large community that supports it, even custom firmwares to enhance the quality biggrin.gif
*
u may go youtube find some DVR video sample to see whether the quality acceptable or not.. starting i want buy papago or garmin, seem quality is good.. but wayway got ppl offer me, rm160 for me consider cheap, can give it a try.. but not that good as papago.. i will plan to go for papago or garmin in next month.. then current wayway v270 will put as rear camera DVR.. papago or garmin will use on front view

There's a reason why branded are a bit more expensive. Most don't use lithium batteries. They use capacitors instead. That means the risk of fire due to heat is low. Lithium batteries tend to expand after some time and they might cause fire if they over heat. Dash cam gets heat up as you park the car under the sun.

Personally I'm using Papago Go Safe 110. Acceptable video & audio. I simply park under the sun. The dash cam is placed behind the rear view mirror so it is not that obvious. I've been using it for more than 1 year and the recording is as good now as it was when new. So it handles heat well.

The dash cam it self:

can u show some footage of night view of papago gosafe 110?? video cam viewing angle seems not bad.. im purchase wayway v270 viewing angle is good but not zoom in.. need press digital zoom in by my own everytime..

Night it is not so good. But then again, the only night recording that I like comes from DSLR.

thanks. erm.. really not that good.. but at least i like the default viewing angle.. my wayway v270 is totally out.. zoom out scene.. have to manual zoom in first after start car.. i also install it behind the car rear view mirror, not sure.. i have to check again when this weekend.. i hide all the water into the roof, side pillar, and under the dashboard..

can check it in proton system.. i bought my car during raya promotion as well so i know it.. not 3 years free labour..

*
u compare the car weight of axia and preve first also..

then u will feel fc in preve is a\reasonable.. buy preve is not aiming for good fc..

compare axia advance vs preve premium
850kg vs 1340kg..

expensive.. i do change before rm250 after my car came out 1 week and tyre broken due to damage on sidewall by nails.

I find the stock tyres on the Preve Turbo (Champiro Bax) to be adequate in terms of performance, grip and braking. Noise levels from the tyres are acceptable as the sound from the engine is louder and overwhelms the sound from the tyres at higher speeds.

Though the Champiro Bax tyres emit a screeching sound when on bends or corners at moderate speeds.
*
same opinion with you. for me, its really average ok in terms of performance.. just tyres will emit a screeching sound when corner in high speed. i always hear that during i came out from highway, there is a big corner.. even im driving 80-90km/h, that sounds stopped me go further..

Bro, just wondering... what's your average speed (km/h) in the Speed Indicator there?

I've always been getting 11.xx L / 100 km most of the time for average speed of 22-23 km/h. mostly 70-80 % drive in city lah.
But i've been browsing through some other preve FC in fuelly.com... majority much better than mine... just wondering if something can be done to improve my FC T.T huhuhu

http://www.fuelly.com/car/proton/preve/201...ngfeng90/282488
*
cant help. coz different routings for each other.. just drive and fill the petrol.. my preve turbo able to achieve 7.3l/100km with 40km/h average.. normally RM50 able to give me around 280~300km. coz mostly i drive in 80km/h highway.. so not fair to compare each other..

conclusion, just enjoy the ride and pump petrol whenever out of petrol.

my preve with 6 airbags and evp doesn't have hill-hold assist at all sad.gif
still would move on slope
*
hill hold assist just active for 2~3 seconds.. u still need to press pedal to move on.. it wont hang over there for sometimes.. actually i think hill hold assists is do engine braking or accelerating during the slope area..

but in preve do not have hill hold assist i think.. although its got hold a while, but that is accelerating after release the brake..

ops sorry if made u misunderstand my signature there.. previous im part time online trader during university.. now not doing it anymore..

hmm i dont think our preve got hill hold assist even new preve. i do try my friend new city V specs.. they do have really engine braking during the slope area.. around 2seconds only.. after that also will backward.. just no need so panic for some people..

but i think our preve should be ok to handle daily usage.. even release our brake, our engine start accelerate ady, should be able to hold for a seconds.. enough for our leg to move from brake pedal to speed pedal.. not a problem for me either got or no HHA.

thanks for the info
it quite helpful to me

for the engine loud,i dont mind actually, since i drove myvi before at highspeed,so im used to it
yea i do drive highway and urban driving since im studying a bit far from kl,

to be honest,im picking preve not because of PROTON,it because the value and the features i get from those value compared to Almera E

btw,how the preve handling,is it bumpy during highspeed,or less bumpy, because when i drove the myvi before,at 140-160kmh its really bumpy for no reason, when i drive my dad's nissan serena at 160kmh,its does bumpy but manageable compared to myvi,so how does Preve handle at highspeed?

thanks again for the info,it give me more confident with Preve.
*
i drive CFE.. power is always good.. handling is a point for proton car.. last tuesday i drive 150-160km/h from penang to UUM for my convocation.. my parents no feeling that i drive super fast.. they thought i drive 110~120km/h only.. it's mean really stable and good handling in preve.. (I drive fast coz i missed a thing at home, return back to home in halfway, and depart again)

normally i didnt drive fast on the road.. mostly 90~110km/h in highway only.. i buy preve due to safety features.. for the fuel consumption, i not so care about it.. but i heard preve exec not so powerful due to heavy weight in preve (better handling, bad FC)

almera and preve also is good car.. most important u and your family like it.. i suggest go test drive both of it.. if u consider almera E specs then u may upgrade a little bit in proton preve premium specs.. Turbo, push start, cruise, auto headlamp, auto rain sensor, paddle shift..

go test drive, discuss with family and decide..

im decided on preve
but the problem lies with my siblings,
they tend to support Nissan because we have long relationship with Nissan.
most of our cars are Nissan Car.
yes i do like the nissan.
we already owned Almera E manual,i already drive around with it,it feel light,

My parent dont mind,as long its value for money,
btw, have you encountered any problematic with the car?
*
my preve premium had just change front disc brake due the sound.. then 1more is rear boot cant open.. until now 4months car no other problem.. i use it as daily working car.. drive highway the most. 7.6l from myself. better than my iswara.. i change from tiara to iswara and now to preve.. so no complaint on noise.. i do have sit other cars like vios, city, almera.. i feel more or less just same.. maybe my ears not very sensitive.. i prefer value of money than branded.. so choose prevepremium in the end.. most important is u like. here u may collect the info from all different car..

i didnt modify anythin. no noise no sound.. som people complaint sound from dashboard i believe they take it off before.. only notice engine or cvt sound when accelerate.. but for me its acceptable.

just 1 things i dont like for preve premium is the price..name it as premium but no leather seat and reverse camera.. diferent 10k only significant with turbo engine (save fuel), and auto headlamp, wiper, side mirror, gps.. if can add on leather seat and reverse camera is the best la

Hook for holding the boot tray. The boot tray only came with pre-ANCAP Preve. ANCAP Preve with 6 air bags don't come with it.
http://www.submerryn.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/105.jpg
*
beside to hold the boot tray, it predesign for change spare tyre. spare tyre and stock tyre wheel is different size.. so if u put stock tyre into it, the layer to cover will not fit actually.. so u can move the layer on the hook so can fit flatly.

now new preve didnt come with boot tray by default, but it upgrade into 6 airbags and reduce little price compare with previous..

Thanks for the info bro. Looking forward to join the club soon. laugh.gif

So means that 2 metal holder there is to make the layer of the mat flat when the Stock Tyre is being replaced by the Spare Tyre.

So when the Stock Tyre were in the boot then the mat will be uneven due to the different size of Tyre that's why they created the 2 holder in order able to put the mat above it and make the platform surface flat.

Now me got offer RM 5k rebate and 3 years FOC service / warranty 5 years.
*
erm correct.. for me i dont mind for the uneven surface layer for temporary.. coz sure i will go fix the stock tyre back ASAP. but they do ready that 2 metal to help like that or also put the boot tray.. can buy the boot tray but few hundred..not so worth.. personally get a luggage box type one to put item when shopping..when reach home, can carry into house and put back afterwards.. easier..

5k rebate, 3 years FOC service, 1 year free labour only. Warranty 5 years should be good enough already..

at mudah.my there are 2 choices for preve boot tray, rm95 and rm165 (seller said pri proton). last time i asked at sparepart shop in seremban and they quoted me rm265 for the tray
*
from previous thread, i saw they mentioned about the boot tray, buy in proton sc is about rm265.. rm95 and 165 i believe is third party one.. but personally opinion, all can be used..

personally i didnt have boot tray in my preve.. coz i use container box one.. about A3 size.. more practical to me.
