I chose BB.....adjust to suit your height.
It is not easy if both of you have different driving position.
*
Thanks.

Then both of you will have to adjust when driving.

Not a hassle to you and partner to do that every time?

Cheerio.

Installed the Racechip S and Racechip response control yday at the RC pro shop. Really impressed with the improvement after the mods, after all it's all P&P. Next up, changing the fuel pressure regulator.

New to this.

Mind telling what are RS & RRC?

And what are the benefits/improvements?

Thanks.

Racechip S is a P&P chip which mathematically manipulates the boost sensor signal, immediate effect is a higher boost level. This is done by delaying the activation of factory electronic boost controller which by-passes the exhaust gas via the wastegate. Racechip S is developed specially for proton CFE engines by the german company racechip. As for the response control, it's something like a throttle controller if u've heard of ETC before, but it's better in the sense that it's designed by the german team.

Benefits would be that the throttle will be much responsive and acceleration is much more improved. U gotta try it to experience the changes.
*
Thanks.

Is it DIY or need the shop to install it?

Plug and drive or need additional wiring?

Price?

Thanks.

U can DIY if u know where to plug it in. No additional wiring needed, the chip comes with it's own harness. I got it done at Racechip HQ in PJ. Price for the race chip s is 1799 and response control is 1399 but i got it at a cheaper price as they were giving discount for those who are willing to paticipate in their development group.

In sending my son to his school, I have to make a U turn and then a left turn about 100 m later. That road is the main and quite busy at timers and thus one to make the turn quite fast.

Surprised that after the U turn, the left turn signal light came on automatically without me switching on the left signal.

Am I the only one who has experienced this? No, I was not day dreaming! Ha.

Yes, that happened to me too, not. Hahaha. It happened but on the wiper stick, sometimes I triggered the wiper whenever I make a turn, so probably it's due to that.

Definitely not a feature in Preve unless yours comes with Satellite Radar Guided Signal Assist (i made that up)
*
Noted the same auto left signal this morning. I am 100% sure I did not accidentally trigger the left signal. I saw the light on the panel changing from right to left by itself!

Maybe on normalising the steering wheel (by itself or by hand) after the right turn, that triggers the left signal. Software fault?

Will try again on open empty road/car park.

Anyone with the same observation?

Cheerio.

hmm, nope, mine has no auto-left OR right.
*
Ha ha. Then mine is either a miracle/the best or problem/rosak.

In an open safe area, make a right U turn and speed up during the turn. See if the left signal cuts in when you travel in the straight line. I still think it is software triggered if it sensed something with the turn.

Do it in an open safe area, OK?

Cheerio.

Sharing one "bad" experience here.

My neighbour cleaned their house wall by water jetting before putting on a new coat of paint. Problem is, some of the paint debris & dirt landed on my Preve. I think it is just water and not water + sand for the cleaning. Rinsed clean my car this morning. Luckily I did not clean my car a few days earlier as I would have to wash my car again today!

Learning is, if someone next to your house is using water spray to clean something, park your car somewhere else.

3 questions:

AA
Has anyone top up your engine oil after finding the level has dropped below the minimum level? Just wondering how much can be lost in running the car (not due to leaks) and over how long a period.

BB
In topping up, what oil do you use? Same type or similar type (mineral with mineral or syn with syn)?

CC
If the radiator water level is low, what water do you use? Special solution for radiator or just plain water?

Thanks.

Haiz...been driving preve for almost one month....gt few problems when I got the car, back seats can't fold, tyre allignment out, helicopter sound, smelly burning odour when I tried speed to 140-160 for awhile...is it true not to speed so much within first 1000km? fc is quite high...almost rm90 ringgit fuel pump every week although just travel around 300km plus. Average 11.8l per 100km...
*
As a 3 months old owner, also seeing FC at about 12 L/100km. My average kph is about 22. My travels are mainly short distance and at 80 kph the most. Thus the high FC.

I used to have noise when I pressed the brake pedal. I sprayed some grease on the joint part and now no more noise and also easier to use.

My Preve is only 3 months old. My back car no plate came off a few weeks ago. Went back to the SC and they got it fixed at a car plate shop. Guess what? When I wanted to put things I bought from the supermarket into the car back, saw the loose car plate again!

Asking myself whether I should go back to the SC or fix it myself. Legally, the SC should fix that and it should not come off again. Thinking deeper, why should the plate come off so frequently? The plate does not rest on the car body evenly, have to push in the plate to make contact with the car body. Either the car body is not straight or the plate is not straight. More like the problem is the plate.

This is small problem but annoying problem. May ask for a better replacement car plate.

Am I the only one having this car plate problem, among Preve and Proton users?

On my loose car plate problem, decided to fix it myself instead of going back to the SC. I don't think they really know how to fix it properly as the plate came off twice in just 3 months.

Did some study on the web and like to share this for those who have a similar problem.

* use 3M double sided automobile tape (RM15). Not normal double sided tapes as they may not be strong enough.
* with car shampoo, clean the back side of the plate and the car body where the plate will be sitting later.
* let them dry for an hour or two.
* the plate back side is not even, about 60% of it is raised higher. Put the tape HERE.
* put the tape in rectangular shape on this raised part, plus a few vertical strips in this rectangular box.
* press on the tape to ensure proper bonding on the plate.
* expose the tape by removing the top layer.
* align the plate on the back of the car and then press it onto the car body.
* press a few times over the plate to ensure proper bonding onto the car. Habis.

The plate is now sitting there securely. Maybe too securely that I will have problem in removing it later! Ha.

Cheerio.

P/S Don't put the tape on the car body and THEN put on the plate. Reason is, the tape may not be bonding fully with the plate due to the open slots on the back of the plate. Maybe this is what they did at the shop.

got the car since end of august til now... no big major problem found...touchwood.

Got mine in mid Aug. So far minor ones like loose back car plate, auto left turn signal after making a quick right U turn (slow right U turn will not trigger the left turn signal).

Main one is the ESC (ESC light came on, non blinking indicating some fault with this ESC). SC does not know what to do and asked me to bring the car to them the next time I have the ESC light again. Thought they can hook up the computer and get the error message!

So far, still happy, 8/10 for my Preve!

For those problems that only occur randomly, you better set an appointment with COSE if you can. Some of the SCs have the attitude of "I can't see anything, so it must not exist".
*
QUOTE(sanadi @ Nov 17 2014, 06:27 PM)
ESC light still not settled? Is the light still ON when you take the corner?
*
So far the ESC light came on 4 times (non blinking) all on the same road to place X (thus I could not just go straight to the SC when the light appeared).

My concern now is, I think the warning light came on when the computer wanted to activate ESC due to the road condition/my driving style but it detected an error and thus the warning light. While it is not fixed, it will not be activated later when I NEEDED IT! Ironic!

I am from Sarawak and SC here are not as advanced or knowledgeable as in W M'sia. Will get this one fixed soon.

Cheerio.

Had an accident this evening after the gym at the club. Reversed my car and scratched the Saga parked at the back (parked illegal). Damage to my Preve as shown in the photo.

Attached Image

Appreciate your view on how I can DIY repair the damage. Or better ask the car shop to do that? Cost?

What a day!

P/S Damage to the Saga was a scratch about 3 inches long above the bigger scratch at the front right light area (the wife scratched it while parking before this incident). The high back, poor lighting (at 6 pm) and the black Saga parked at an illegal area added to my mistake. I heard the beep and the light scratch. Good that I was not reversing fast. Otherwise it will be body dents instead of just paint.

70k car also cannot get Good Reverse sensor, u still buy
*
Ha ha. It is not the cost but the person behind the wheel. E.g. Boeing 777 can still go missing. Nothing wrong with the sensor.

I guess I have reversed there at least 1000 times. Maybe I was so used to it as I have done so many times, and thus not aware of the black car sitting there.

Like I said, Preve's high back also added to my mistake. Have to add the main cause, the Saga was parked there illegally. There were many vacant parking lots about 20-30 meters away and yet she parked the car there.

One takeaway for me now is to reduce my car radio volume on starting the car so that I can hear the reverse beep clearer and sooner. Increase the volume only when going straight.

Cheerio.
