I have been loving my Huawei Ascend mate 6 inch black because of great battery life. Now, i am wondering if it is worth it to sell my Ascend Mate and buy Huawei mediapad X1. Any advice? Thanks

I had been using Nova launcher since day one for this phone
Out of curiosity I decided to switch to its default Emoticon UI - it took me an hour to organize all my apps into folders. Only cons are there is lack of customization with it - eg icon sizes, changing icon themes, font sizes of icons etc
Immediate impression after 2 days - the whole phone appears smoother in homescreen transition . Unlike Nova, at certain times only,  there was a slight delay up to 1-2 secs when closing an app ( eg Facebook)  and return back to homescreen. Such was completely absent and every app opening and closure and return back to homescreen was instantaneous

Me too still deciding which to get MediaPad X1 love it because of its size Tab S also because of its size can't resist the gorgeous AMOLED screen.

Price difference around rm300 as far as i know. Lelong - TAB S rm4599++ MediaPad X1 rm1170++-rm1299++.

About the performance definitely Samsung Octacore win although not Snapdragon CPU than Hisilicon for Huawei

I NEVER use chrome in all my Androids. I consider it to be  the worst browser. Google needs a lot of work on it. However Chrome is the best on my Mac vs Safari or Firefox
I prefer Dolphin or Boat n absolutely no lag

After playing this device for almost day this is my view.

This device is not for power user & gamers.The lags is quite annoying.More if you come from a Nexus device. I hope this is just a software issues though.Although it don't heat as much as my N4 when playing games.

Screen is gorgeous.Great for reading & movie.Im having a great time reading manga in this phablet with it's screen and form factor.

Battery life is great. That 5000mah sure will last you a long time.Even with heavy usage.

Camera is nice but that's not my priority. At least it better than what you find in a Nexus.You need to tweak it if you want a batter shot.

The speaker sound is good.Im not an audiophile so can't comment much.

Out of the box points I give 7/10.

Good:1.screen 2.form factor 3.battery 4.speaker 5.camera

Bad:1.software

I have just spoke to Huawei Support in SG and technical person in China via conference call. They mentioned that the firmware update to 4.4 will be out on 1 Sept. The reason is that they need time to get approval from Google before releasing the firmware.
