Good evening,
With rootexplorer,I can modify easily the properties of any files inside my internal X1, but I have been trying to get a file only readable on my Extsdcard. I can't do it because "you don't have the autorisations to modify on extsdcard.
Any ideas folks?
Think you very much
Kindly yours from an old man

Bonjour monsieur bvannier.

I think you have installed 4.4.2 KitKat. KitKat has some restrictions on writing to extsd. There's a fix on Play Store for this, called KitKat SDFix or something I cannot recall.

A bit of Googling came up with this

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=nextapp.sdfix

You can try similar apps.

NOTE: to tag someone in Lowyat forum, you need to put [ and ] around the @name

Before running nextapp sdfix one must first edit the system r/w so that changes can be made. If not this app will fail to run. The edit of this system is in post#4
You would need busybox fully installed first n reboot phone than only edit the system r/w . If not you will see chattr command missing when you try to key in the second command line

When I lounch sdfix, it says that work as been done. Xposed installer is fully fonctional, so does titaniumbackup stored on my extsdcard. Busybox fully installed, chattr command OK. Tomtom and Sygic are both installed in my internal memory and the cards, 12gb, installed and running from Extsdcard....
I need one file, stored in one of sygic's folder in extsdcard to be only readable.
SO, I can access and modify any files and folders, but can't, so far, get one protected from any modification.
DiD someone try already to protect a file stored in it's extsdcard?
Any more suggestions?
Kindly yours from an old man

It looks like my bootloader is locked as it does not show the green UNLOCKED text from uncle Benny's screenshots. I cannot execute fastboot commands.

I'm also updating to 4.4.2 tonight....fingers crossed.

TiBu done, CWM done, Nova backup done. Let's see how it goes.

Crap. R002B008 will not boot normally due to the changed recovery which I installed.

Reverting to stock recovery via Flashify and see if it works that way.

UPDATE:

Stock 4.2.2 recovery allows the update to proceed. Next on to rooting and restoring.

Rooted with VRoot 1.7.9. It installed a bunch of Chinese root helper apps. Didn't use them. Installed SuperSU, which asked to remove those Chinese root apps to avoid conflict. Then installed Busybox.

Why would you do that? After the ROM is flashed, it already contains Recovery and Fastboot within the update.app

Did you flash from a different version ?

For some reason I cannot access Fastboot now.

BTW All,

Did anyone get Xposed working? The old trick of ro.config.hwtheme = 0 does not work and Xposed won't install.

UPDATE: OK saw you updated and flashed different ROM versions.

And now my fastboot is showing Device Unlocked !!!! Yeah !!!

Anyone now flashing the CWM 6.0.4.7 ?
