I've been trying out the built in Netflix app and it seems to skip frames. I believe this is a custom version for minix.
Should I replace it with the standard version?
The standard one works great on an old dual core tablet without any skipping.

Dear Customers,

The MINIX build in Netflix only stream none HD movies, please follow the below step to upgrade your Netflix to Super HD streaming :

1). Pls download the apk file in my Google drive under subfolder "Netflix Super HD". Uninstall the MINIX Netflix and install the Super HD version. My Google Drive link already sent to you via Getting Started email. If you did not get i, please pm me your email address.

2). Check your Netflix setting in your Netflix account, set the Data Usage to Auto or High as per below link :
http://www.samsung.com/us/support/supportO...1&map_seq=55665

Netflix streaming will start with none HD, if your Internet bandwidth is sufficient, it will auto switch to HD or Super HD. As per my testing, mostly you will get HD during day time and night time possible to get Super HD.

P/S : Netflix is paid service if you are new about Netflix. Just to clarify to avoid any miss understanding.

Hi there I have few enquiries:
1) I have a hd led tv, can the 4k Uhd feature further enhance the picture quality?
2) is there sufficient Hong Kong drama for viewing? Or any other Asian channel. I found that himedia has variety of Asian shows but I can't read chinese. So I thought minix might be a better choice
3) lastly is the interface user friendly for elderly?
Hopefully you can address my concern as I'm new to android tv box. Thanks

Thank you for inquiry. I hope my below answer could help you further understand.

1). 4K UHD is just screen resolution, 4K ready movies require 4K ready TV to play back. It will not enhance picture quality if your TV is 1080p or the movies file is 1080p or lower resolution.

2). MINIX key selling point is the XBMC minix edition. If your expectation is HK Dramas then MINIX may not help you much because majority of the HK Dramas streaming apps are developed by China developer. You need to know minimum Chinese words to guess the Chinese menu such as episode 1, 2, 3,...movies title and etc. The only HK Drama web site with English menu is Azdrama, but the resolution is not as good.

3). User interface is similar to Android Smart Phone.

Lastly, I would like to clarify both Himedia and Minix are not selling movies content, they are selling player with Android platform such that you could utilize Android apps to stream video & audio. We are sharing with our customers about the popular and usable streaming apps in the market. Please do not confused Himedia and Minix with other IPTV provider who are merely provide movies content services. Please do not get me wrong, I just would like to clarify upfront to avoid any missed expectation.

Hi there..Thanks for rectifying my concerns. I guess I have a better understanding now..does it mean that if I already own a smart tv then an additional android box will not be that useful? As the smart tv already have features like screen mirroring, Web surfing and etc? Thx

No really, it depend on capability of your smart TV for example can your Smart TV install xBMC, play multiple video format, multiple audio decoding capability and etc.

Since you posted this question in X8-H thread, let me ask you if XBMC online streaming is your 1st priority requirement ? or your 1st requirement is to play local/downloaded movies in most of the common format?

Please share with me, I will recommend you the best choice.

I dunno which thread to post since u have more than 1 media player. Most priority will be playing from local content. if can use Xbmc, good also. The more function, better. I also plan to stream to various device like Samsung tab, iPhone and Android phone

To stream local content, Q16 quad core will be my recommendation.

https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=3201002&hl=

Q16 quad core has similar hardware spec as X8H, but Himedia has better local video and audio codec due to theor long history of selling media player.

Yes, the EMMC flash memory is same as your Andrioid phone internal memory used for Operating System, apps, photos, music and video.

Himedia has longer history in media player, and your first priority requirement is to watch local downloaded movies, therefore I recommend Himedia for you. It does not mean Himedia is better then Minix. As mentioned in the thread, minix has better xBMC customized version which Himedia do not have.

Hi

Glad to see a Penang seller selling MINIX NEO X8-H biggrin.gif as I'm from Penang too.

Can you advise how is the warranty claim procedure ie shipping fee, where should we ship to and duration of the claim?

I'm considering to purchase this TV Box for media streaming / play downloaded movies and most importantly Skype video call. My distance from the box to the sofa set would be less than 5m. Do you think if I purchase the X8-H with A2 Mouse that comes with built in mic helps during Skype call. In the meantime, can you advise suitable webcam model that works with the X8-H?

There are 3 USB port on the box, does it support 3.5" 2TB SATA, USB Keyboard and Mouse?

Can you quote your best price for MINIX NEO X8-H (X8H) + Minix A2 Mouse + Delivery to Penang.

Look forward to hear from you and if I'm able to whatsapp you for further queries, please PM me you hp no.

Thank you
