I've been trying out the built in Netflix app and it seems to skip frames. I believe this is a custom version for minix.
Should I replace it with the standard version?
The standard one works great on an old dual core tablet without any skipping.

Yes, you can try the standard version. Just backup the the original Netflix in case you need to resintall back. The backup app is in the Google Drive, the link sent to you via the Getting Started email.

There is Netflix thread in MINIX forum to discuss main Netflix, there are few link recommended by MINIX buyer, you can try further.

Sorry for the late reply. Some background on how I ended up with an X8. I was using a Himedia Q5 ii and didn't like 2 things. English support was lacking and XBMC didn't work at all in HD. MINIX has an English forum and custom Xbmc. My main use is for streaming videos from my NAS, Hulu and Netflix. XBMC is secondary. So far apart from the Netflix frame skipping, everything else works great.
I was going to get an X7 but couldn't resist Nicety's price.

Note that for just Hulu, Netflix and local streaming, I use a WDTV as it is more remote friendly. (I don't really like the air mouse operation).X8 will be for all the android only apps and XBMC.

You'll really need to see your requirement before deciding. Still too early for me to give a firm recommendation on the X8, but it's looking good so far.. I'm happy for now.

However, I dont like the air mouse. But couple with the apps (remote control) in another android smartphone, they are doing good!

Trust me bro, you need some time to adapt to the air mouse since we use to traditional mouse for the last 10 years. Once you use to the air mouse, you will no longer need traditional mouse.

P/S : Air mouse only suitable for large screen, computer monitor not suitable for air mouse.

If you could read Chinese, then Himedia has the advantage of watching China TV programs, but you have to bear with Chines apps in Chinese menu. I do not recommend to choose Q5III at this moment as the firmware still in the preliminary stage, please wait until mid of September 2014, there is enhancement of Q5III model after 2 months of test market in China. At the same time, Q5III English firmware will be available in September 2014. Typically, firmware 1.0.3 onward will be stable version.

To be honest bro, I do not have MK330 to verify for you. Typically Android support most of the plug and plug mouse and keyboard, unless the mouse required special driver to work.

Keyboard is not necessary for Watching movies. If you plan to use the player for massive Internet browsing or blogging, I will not recommend to use android player.

By the way, X8H come with free Air mouse.

Was playing around the launcher options. Still prefer the default launcher. While switching to nova, it changed the ori wallpaper. How do I go about to get back the default launcher wallpaper aaa ... ahahahaha!!

If you mean reset back to MINIX launcher, just to Settings -> Home -> MINIX Metro
