Microtransactions aren't going to bother me as long as they keep it online only. In fact it might encourage me to play MLO more because i'm not going to waste my time grinding my way just to get a decent 70 something rated player. If you really have played MLO you should understand how tedious it can be. These day i see microtransaction as another option, that usually only the hardcore player will bite.
Beside in PES / WE case, more money to the game maker is not automatically a bad thing. It's no secret the game has to endure turbulent path with inadequate staff and several othe cost-cutting measure by KONAMI HQ. They have like only a few hundreds user online at the same time.
There is nothing wrong with more money for the game creators but the problem, most of the time, the money doesnt not go back to the creators themselves but taken up by the few executives of the company.
At the same time, paying a $60 game then asking you pay for microtransaction continuously is a hell no. Games cost upwards of RM100 to RM200 these days, and why the heck I should pay more for so little content when these things are literally free back then. If its so expensive to make these games now, then dont make such expensive games where the fact is, there are games like Divinity Original Sin, Wasteland or Project CARS managed to develop games with small budget. That seemed more like mismanagement on Konami's part and pass all the wastage of funds into consumers hands.
Hardcore players or not, contents should not be put behind a paywall or force "free" players to grind for it. I am playing a game, not a second job to work for my progress in games. And there is no saying that MLO features will not spread to offline mode in the next few iteration of the game.
If a game developer wants to force microtrasactions on its consumer, I wont buy the game as I do not wish to be part of their scheme to manipulate their customer to pay up for microtransactions by psychology. If not, I'll use region lock trading to get the game with lesser revenue for the company.
