You guys can ignore all those rumours lar... LvG is targeting defender only now. We are short of CB. I seriously believe Vermaelen and De Srij will join soon.

Vermaelan wear 5 and de Vriij wear 3 smile.gif but I still prefer Hummels, but not sure whether Dortmund will let him go

Inter legend criticises Manchester United tactics under Ferguson and Moyes

QUOTE
Inter Milan legend Dejan Stankovic has criticised Manchester United’s defensive tactics under a succession of managers, pointing out that they left former captain Nemanja Vidic horribly exposed, as reported by ESPN.com.

Vidic was considered a fantastic defender during his time in the Premier League, but was never renowned for his pace. Certain strikers repeatedly exploited this fault in his game, making it incredibly easy for them to take advantage of him.

The likes of Fernando Torres seemed to have something of a hex on him, but they simply did their best to turn the defender, something he found difficult to deal with.

The Serbian international left Old Trafford at the end of last season, having struggled under David Moyes, and his compatriot Stankovic has now suggested that both managers could have done more to deal with the issue.

He told Vidic, upon signing for Inter: “Nema, in Italy there’s great attention to detail on organisation and tactics.

“You’ve had to face great strikers in one-v-ones with a motorway behind you for years; here you can play with a cigarette in your mouth.”

Inter return to European football this season in the Europa League, having missed out on the competition last season. They look likely to sign Cardiff midfielder Gary Medel.

not everything. Vida is good enough to stand on his own. Everyone needs to be strong individually in a flat 4. If someone fast runs past the center then GG, but it has worked out well in the past. Last season was because opponents know they can get something out from the games, so they try to have a run at defenders more often, force that one on one situation.

If he not coming this year, doubt ManUtd will ever buy him. He is 28 next year.
