QUOTE(andrewtho @ Jun 24 2014, 10:37 PM) Yeah I read about that, hopefully it is just a 'false alarm' because 40mil is really absurd for a player who is only turning 19 this year. If Soton outprice Shaw, they will have to deal with a 'unsettled' player for the rest of the season, something that they would want to avoid If it's gonna be a "unsettled Shaw" at Southampton for the rest of 2014/15 season..guess it's the same what happened to Llorente at Bilbao back in 2012/13. Sour grapes much. Hope you become a stellar superstar in Russia and in 4 years time joining the likes of Real Madrid / Barca as your agent claimed. Won't be missed. #banter QUOTE(irmo @ Jun 24 2014, 10:38 PM) Hopefully.. |

QUOTE(limjenson @ Jun 25 2014, 10:59 AM) Anyone watched the match last night, got to say, Shaw looks good. If he cost around 20-25m I would take it in a moment. I agree. QUOTE(bansai @ Jun 25 2014, 02:06 PM) Uruguay learning from the recent biting incident in BPL.. Blame press, dismiss incident, plain denial, vilify the innocent. Target ke,ape ke,Suarez is always the antagonist of modern football! Manager says press going after him, He says its a normal on field incident, captain says that it did not happen and tries to cloud Chiellini's name by stating that he was looking to send off Suarez... Yesterday's value 70m, today, 50m, if banhammer for 2 years for all FIFA games and supported by domestic FAs, 25m in 2016.. Suarez and Liverpool, match made in heaven, he'll never leave, always the victim, never their fault. QUOTE(limjenson @ Jun 25 2014, 04:03 PM) This. QUOTE(andrewtho @ Jun 26 2014, 06:13 PM) Guys, I'm not blaming kayu on this The Spanish league is different from other leagues. Based on what I've read yesterday, an article that sino provided..simple theory. 1) In Spain, the 'Buy Out' clause is not a 'release clause'. Every player in LFP has a 'buy out' clause and they are obligated to have one. The complicated part is when foreign clubs step in. The clause can be easily triggered by clubs within Spain, where Real Madrid can buy player A from Real Betis without any hassle. For the foreign clubs, they need to be 'approved' by the club itself. Meeting the clause does not guarantee a sale. 2) Bilbao is a Basque club. They are the 'people' club where they will only field BASQUE-BORN/Players because it is what they do. The reason why Bilbao is being stubborn is because they want Herrera to compensate them, it is not easy to find another Basque-born player as good as Herrera. So basically the player needs to fork out on his part too because no way United will pay more than the release clause. 3) Complicated? Hell yeah. This case is similar of Javi Martinez to Bayern Munich. Javi had to pay another 4mil (iirc) to 'free' himself from the contract. So Herrera's case is pretty similar. 4) Don't blame kayu this time. He has done a fantastic job (for once) by keeping the transfer under wraps, unlike last year. This part of the deal is beyond him, he has done everything beyond his power (paperwork etc) and now everything depends on Herrera and Bilbao. There is a willing buyer but not a willing seller. Lets just hope it will eventually fall through, complicated but yeah. QUOTE(allenultra @ Jun 26 2014, 08:00 PM) Just pay the 4mil and secure Herrera. He is 24, still many good years in him. This!A quality signing is what we been waiting for. QUOTE(+Newbie+ @ Jun 26 2014, 08:11 PM) Guys, chill. Listen to what Andrew said earlier. 1) This is not Woodward's fault. 2) Buying out a player's contract is troublesome and has a lot of implications. So United lodged a bid equal to the buy out clause to test luck and save a lot of paperwork, legal wrangling, taxes, etc. 3) That got rejected so United are forced to buy out the contract. Apparently the buy out has been lodged with the Spanish FA. Now it's pending approval by the Spanish FA and the tax authorities. 4) Bilbao anounced that they rejected the earlier bid to appease their fans that they are fighting to keep players and the player is the one who forced the transfer. 5) United will probably be made to pay 4M Euros to Zaragoza as well. 6) Assuming the paperwork is in place and all monies paid, the deal will go through. QUOTE(alien2003 @ Jun 26 2014, 08:19 PM) http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/...en-for-just-12m I'd rate him a 16-17M pricetag. I will be |

QUOTE(limjenson @ Jun 26 2014, 11:45 PM) Best part, he's rumoured on 50k a week only. That's a snip. Compared to what Luke Shaw is apparently offered which is outrageous. QUOTE(bansai @ Jun 26 2014, 11:46 PM) I'd say around 50-70K per week is fine. |

QUOTE(+Newbie+ @ Jun 27 2014, 09:13 AM) I have my own suspicions about that fiasco. I suspect Peter Kenyon botched the deal on purpose, because the moment he left MU and joined Chelsea, he immediately sealed the deal for Chelsea. Lol TBH,he may need a few more years before being a world class left-back. Yeah, 29 Million Pounds is a bit high, but I'm not that worried about this one. I'm more worried about the alleged Shaw for 34 Million pounds deal. 34 Million pounds for an 18 year old with only 1 BPL and 1 World Cup experience is a very big risk. I sincerely hope it works out well. I think we have to take their cultural history in context. I suspect they already have an agreement with the players that anyone who meets the clause gets to go, but the club needs to protect itself by making a big brouhaha about rejecting bids and the player forced the transfer buy terminating (buy out in Spain) his contract. That's probably what happened. Yeah, it's very complicated. You are right the club could object, but its more of a technicality because the Spanish wordings are vague and no one has challenged this in court before. FIFA obliges Spanish clubs to accept it. The EU as well. Besides, it wouldn't be good for them to renege on their own agreements as it would affect their ability to purchase other rare Basque players. This whole brouhaha about rejecting the bid was basically a formality for the sake of politics. So the club can show they fought hard to keep the player. It was the player who forced the transfer. I'm pretty sure the players and club already agree if the clause is met, he goes. Yesssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss No, apparently he likes number 8? That's his twitter number. https://twitter.com/anderherrera8 So poor Anderson might lose his number. Eh?Mata is wearing the No 8? QUOTE(andrewtho @ Jun 27 2014, 06:07 PM) Quoted from the 'best team in England' thread. Let me guess.red merseyside? lel @ the bold part. Finished below for ONE season and already mocking as if they won anything last season. Pathetic. Anyway, Luke Shaw should be unveiled today. Brace for it lads Eh,i hope it's a done deal once i'm back from the cinemas. |

QUOTE(andrewtho @ Jun 28 2014, 12:38 AM) K la. Got some people from other thread butthurt liao, whining about us spoiling the market la, overpaying for players la, buying the league la etc. And teams like Chelsea,Man City spend a lot every year. When did we spend a lot in a single year?I don't even know.. Do take note that the money that we use are generated from revenues, prize money and sponsorships rather than having a sugardaddy owner that bankrolls annually. There is a difference between spending revenues rather than spending Russian/Arab money. Jelly iz jelly. So much hate. QUOTE(Nasri8 @ Jun 28 2014, 01:12 AM) Football these days.Money is the thing i guess. QUOTE(micpling @ Jun 28 2014, 07:38 AM) Still worried if we could not get any world class CB. From what I see of Hummels, he still lacks a little for the EPL, maybe pre-season can get him prepared, if we get him at all. How I wish Evans did not get injured. Don't know how he will be when he comes back. Tak mau promote Michael Keane? Evans must prove his worth QUOTE(limjenson @ Jun 28 2014, 08:37 AM) So below 30M? QUOTE(andrewtho @ Jun 28 2014, 10:13 AM) Lol. I don't think Sanchez would go there and join Suarez on eating. And they were saying that next season their line up will include Pedro, Shaqiri and Sanchez. Shaqiri maybe but Pedro and Sanchez? Rofl. Dream on » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « QUOTE(tehoice @ Jun 28 2014, 12:02 PM) Lel United spend big every once in a while.City and Chelsea?EVERY YEAR! |

QUOTE(+Newbie+ @ Jun 28 2014, 07:10 PM) For me, I would prefer to see a centerback. I guess Hummels? Not sure if he's gonna leave Dortmund though.I'd like to see someone with more authority partnering Evans. QUOTE(SGSuser @ Jun 28 2014, 11:08 PM) So Shaw price is lower than 30M. QUOTE(alowie @ Jun 28 2014, 11:16 PM) Though historically we've been accustomed to play heavily on the flanks, I think LvG has shown that he is the kind of coach who maximize tactic based on players available to him, not the other way around (at least in recent years). Based on current players and their form, it's tactic I can think of at the moment, mostly influenced by mix of my long affection with 4-3-1-2 and Dutch's great win against Spain system (and of course terrible form of our wingers). Really?Smalling in defence?I prefer Jones. ![]() Would be interesting to see how will United play if they're gonna play 4-3-1-2. QUOTE(limjenson @ Jun 28 2014, 11:19 PM) Mhmm! |
