Yeah I switched from WP7 to Android. The apps are a lot better in terms of both quality and quantity. Can say that apps determine the functions of the phone. But it was a nice experience using WP, felt special and different smile.gif .

Recently bought a OPPO Find 7A, camera sucks but it offers some gimmicks that are a welcome sight but for Lumia, you have to tap different lenses on the app in order to make get those gimmick feature. All in all, both take stunning photos at bright sunlight.

Also, ZEISS lenses are badass!

That said, you have to know what you really want or need from a smartphone, whether to get the emails, get social or even read the Internet. All these are available on all platforms but one might need to consider which works for them best.

Having to own this Find 7A device for the second day now, what I learnt is even the overlay launcher is not perfect, the Android "spine" still works and backed by tons of app - which makes the smartphone reliable and fun to use.

I have heard about all this android will lag, WP will not lag talk. How true is it? Granted, I have only used my new phone for about a month, but so far the performance has been flawless.

I do agree with what capsulr has said though

For me WP is only butter smooth when running default apps, typing and scrolling the homescreen. Oh, RAM management is better too. My old 512mb RAM WP can multitask a lot yet no lag.

But when it comes to 3rd party apps, it's how they build the apps that counts. Popular apps like facebook, whatsapp, LINE and so on on WP is not as well baked as the 1 on iOS/Android.

i think with the price of l525, any low end android phone can beat it

in term of apps quantity, its still at disadvantages

that why i have another phone...=P

im kinda different, i have a nexus 4 and lumia 920. i still prefer to use lumia 920 as primary device.
apps quality isn't a very big problem for me, i have no complain about apps. And apps like instagram, twitter etc also has very good 3rd party client.
one of the reason that keep me using lumia as primary device is battery life. my nexus 4 battery drop very fast, half day ady finish and my lumia 920 on 8.1 dev preview still can last for one day, both with same usage

yes, i also no issue with apps....most popular app is there or 3rd party app which better than official app....

if i use android, i always need to free the ram where i don't need to think about ram in wp...

scrolling is smooth, those never use ios or wp will never know how smooth is it...

after latest update to wp8.1 dev, the resuming time is almost unnoticeable....if developer fully port the app to support 8.1, the resuming will much more better....

After been using the 920 for nearly two years this I have to agree with you.

Spent days with Oppo Find 7A (2800mAH) surprisingly both left with 20% at the end of the day. (Lumia 920 has 2000mAH)

Used IOS and Android. Changed 20 phones from the past 6 months. And settled with Lumia 1520. There is nothing smoother and more attractive than Lumia UI and camera. The lack of apps? Well who cares!

Lumia all the way!

Disagree with don't like to pay for apps.

I buy apps on WP8 (metrotube, Halo etc), but there are way too many apps that you cant buy even if you have the money. Heck, on Android, I just discovered an official app for my favourite Chinese video streaming site and it is extremely convenient to access the site on my app and even download the videos.

Before getting my android phone, I used to think that app is a non issue. In a way, it is true. You can use your phone fine without apps, but then you will ask yourself then why get a smartphone when it can only do very basic functions (and an expensive flagship one at that). I love my L920 and there are some substitute for the main social apps, but now I have better main social apps and even those very specific apps that work wells...changing platform really opens my eyes on what app can really do and how much they can increase my phone's potential

I have owned the Lumia 920, SGS4 Active and the iPhone 5.

Lumia 920 - screen and hardware problems, I no longer use it.
iPhone 5 - great quality, but I disliked the iTunes restrictions on media capabilities. Sold it off.
SGS4 Active - best of the lot; big screen and does almost everything I want

Conclusion: I'm staying away from Windows Phone for the foreseeable future.

im from ios to android and now with WP8.
i dun care abt the app..
i just wan my mailbox online, whatsapp and the most important thing is the battery can last for more than a single day.
so i switched my PANTECH LTE-A from primary to 2ndary hp.
Lumia 1320 is my primary phone currently.
im happy with it.
no way to go back to IOS.
WP & android is the best combination.

Android?? welcome to the never ending modding world... I just too tired to chase all those tweak in daily basis and keep monitor what dragging the system resource or what draining my battery out of no where... the Android just simply too complex and too easy to be modified by any of those apps out there... till the end, keep on factory resetting, keep on fine tuning, keep on tweak here and there... on and on and on... then the new firmware major release... oh yeah new features cool... installed the update then found sh*t happen, battery drain for no reason... then hard reset again, backup, restore, fine tune... later just give up restore all original..... I've give up on these game which started since the nokia symbian ages... shakehead.gif

agree with you. Last time using symbian phone almost every month flashing custom rom. Tired already so no need to root, jailbreak etc to get free
apps or tweak.

Just pay at least rm3 to get no ads apps in WP and I'm happy.

The software follow me where I go with my ID.

Sold my lumia 1020 and bought a xiaomi mi3 instead. Almost every aspect of the phome best the lumia. One week gone, got myself another 1020 and selling off my android.

Conclusion? The camera alone on the lumia 1020 is enough to compensate for other shortcomings .

People seems to be buying the hardware of nokia more than the software from microsoft.
