Reconfirm something, the NERD A87 replica does not come with diodes or side LEDS soldered? So we need to do ourselves?

Guys, I've been eyeing for a Topre for awhile already and would like to get a TKL one. How much does a Topre keyboard usually go for and where can I get one?
*
New-ish one around RM800. If you want to consider second hand full sized one PM me.

Which brand is yours? Btw, where do I get one at RM800?
*
I use Realforce. RM800 is BNIB price/massdrop price, including shipping. Luckily I got mine from a nice geekhacker in SG.

Sorry, i would like to ask is there any other MKB that have backlight effects feature like Duck Shine 3?

Look for cheaper alternative than Duck Shine 3.
Thanks

Custom lai.

QUOTE(nikaizad @ Aug 4 2014, 02:33 PM)
let me share a story with you.

i once wanted a backlit keyboard..  my mind said that it would help me type in the dark.

turns out its useless unless you're staring at the keys directly from the top.
plus touch typing is the way to go.    so me second keyboard is a filco ninja tkl...  you can actually see the letters on each key since the letter are on the front.
ok bye.. bling bling keyboard is useless
*
I used to think like that... but... think of bling bling like this:

Sometimes we enjoy seeing nekkid pipul. You know what I mean. But every day see nekkid is not good because one day you'll get bored with nekkid and you'd want to see them wear smexy clothes. Even though the aurat is covered, suddenly it seems more alluring, beautiful and mysteriously sexy in a way you'd never understand.

So yeah. Sometimes you want bling. Sometimes, just basic will do. Sometimes, you'd want trashy and slutty blinking LEDs shining bright all over the place. Sometimes, you want a classy glow like this:

u wont feel the double tapping issue so much im gaming dota on blue its perfect i could say stick to ure feeling i u wan tactile as well as the clicky sound just stick to blue.

many ppl here still stick to blue for gaming n u said u type alot

IMO im gaming on blue n i can tell u going blue for game isnt a bad idea at all.

if u end up avoiding the sounded double taping issue n go for brown u will switch back to blue like real soon.

I feel like getting the eagle as it fits better to my layout and its still available. Or should i go for the gong and get something totally diff for exploration purposes like hhkb pro2 blanks???

1. Buy MX Browns because they are the "best mix of gaming and typing"
2. Realize MKBs are REALLY cool.
3. Buy 2nd MKB because need numpad/no need numpad/want smaller/want bigger keyboard.
4. Feel curious about other switches.
5. Buy third MKB with different switch.
6. Hngggghhhhh.
7. Try out other switches. Buy 2-3 more MKBs.
8. Hear about:
8a. Custom.
8b. Topre/Buckling Spring.
9. Maggi. Every. Day.

Just ordered a 87U 55g Topre from EK when I never tried any mechanical keyboard(not even a Cherry Switch). I figured that I should choose the high end switch right away rather than Cherry first and then upgrading later. I hope I don't have to change to other keyboard later.
*
Not good to jump into Topre too soon... You won't really appreciate the advances of a capacitive keyboard so soon.

Topre switch is different from Cherry MX. Topre just higher end tactile switch. Rubber cup switch (Topre) master race  notworthy.gif
If you original want a linear switch, MX Vintage Black is the high end.
If you want a clicky, no doubt, you will need to get MX Cherry blue/green.

The world in MX Cherry is more colorful than monotone Topre in terms of after-market keycaps selection.

Most of the keyboard users here also have same mindset as you in the beginning entering this mkb thread.
Because of curiosity want to try every different switches, at the end, you will getting a MX Cherry keyboard too.
So, your next keyboard still will back to Filco MJ2 or custom keyboards with MX Cherry.
*
Semi-agree with you. I'm retiring the Realforce (actually using it as office daily driver) because it has less options for bling bling and customization, but I really do like the feel of Topre switches. I really appreciate how I can really lay it on the Topre and still get that consistent feel in the keys that I will never experience with another keyboard.

However, I can't add LEDs, I can't make have Ergo Clears, I can't have jailhouse blues, and I can't have good keycaps.

So, in the end, I guess that is why I'm really keen on the Novatouch smile.gif

Keep using it for 1 month after you get it.
You will appreciate the keyfeel and noise after that.

When you first got it, you will feel like 'this is it??'

Got one guy, I helped him to obtain a 55g from Taobao some time ago. He sold it a few hours after receiving it. doh.gif
