RM300?
that's about the price you can get a new ducky zero and maybe a 2nd hand ducky zero shine.
maybe our own lyn kastam could be around that price? i don't know...but chances are it's gonna take awhile to come out from the lab.
USD$300?
that's about the price you can get for kastam
but full size kastam...they is rare breed, not like rabbits who multiplies a lot.
didn't really look much into fullsize kastam price.
but a quick search shows that on average, fullsize kastam pcb cost about USD$50-55.
that itself is almost RM200.
some cheap acrylic custom cut casing for fullsize is about ~RM100-RM120.
aww dang...we've broke your budget
there's still 104-108 switches to get, which is about RM1.50 - RM2.00 per switch.
that's about RM150-200 there.
also there's stabilizers, which cost about RM30-45 if you get it from the recent cherry stabilizers groupbuy.
you will need diodes also, but that is cheap, i think should be about <RM30
tada~ that's the barebone of a working kastam keyboard.
there's still LEDs if you want some bling blings.
and with that you need resistors, maybe RM10 can get already.
last but not least, keycaps.
you can get cheap ones which is about RM80, probably those are second hand ones.
this can range up to near RM1000 depending on your layout and preference. you can check out some of the members here who are selling their keycaps.
another alternative way is to buy faulty cherry mx switch mech keyboard and salvage the keycaps.
the almost final last but also quite important, is the USB to miniUSB cable.
cheapo boring ones are RM5 which you can get from daiso or some computer shops.
or if you fancy nicer cables, you can look a little below

Lance will not be possible at below 300. Currently looking at about RM100 for acrylic only case (not recommended at all) , possibly RM 100 for switches and another RM50 for teensy, RM80 for taihao keycaps, then you need to buyscrews, wires and diodes and then spaghetti wire it yourself (estimate around RM100 parts and labour). that's about the price you can get a new ducky zero and maybe a 2nd hand ducky zero shine.

How can? CM Novatouch is launching soon. Lots of things to talk about!
It's not that I don't want to post here. This thread moved so fast that it is hard to catch up and have meaningful conversation. And by the time I check in at the end of the day, the conversation or topic have moved away already. It's kinda difficult to discuss in one thread.
I'm excited for novatouch, but I'm worries about CM cases. Might have another huge investment going that way when it arrives. See how first. It's not that I don't want to post here. eBay? That's very pricey and higher risk.
The usual brand like Filco, Ducky, some Vortex and maybe iKBC can be found locally. Gaming MKB is much common, can be found any where.
Now the Kastam brand is a bit hard to get by, usually GB (Group Buy) and possibly only limited item, or Import from China, Korea, etc. Oh did I say it's Kastom DIY? So you get to soldering, installing, and probably program it yourself...
Me? Nah, Filco, and another Poker 2 is enough for my life, excuses for not enough dough to play Kastam.
Lance will be more affordable than Koreans, although I will be using kek lapis method to keep it cheap. The usual brand like Filco, Ducky, some Vortex and maybe iKBC can be found locally. Gaming MKB is much common, can be found any where.
