Smexy tuhao TKL.

Although I wonder... why have extra cutting on the plate around the forwardslash, capslock, tab and rshift area? What purpose does it serve?

Cool!!! Mind to share your keyboard? Hence, do you know where I can get cheaper mechanical keyboard, in KL AREA
*
Cheaper? Prolly Heavy Arms or Robotica. If you don't mind second hand, I have an MX Black and a MX Brown TKL for sale. Going pretty cheap if you want stock keycaps.

QUOTE(xbbshampoo @ Aug 7 2014, 08:43 AM)
guys, is corsair vengeance k70 cherry blue mx gooding for playing dota ? brows.gif
*
Cherry MX Blue for Dota 2 is fine.

You might have some issues double-tapping if you use that setting for self-cast spells because of the inherent weakness of MX Cherry switches, but there is nothing you can do about it. Hysteresis is a problem with MX Cherry, and the debounce is necessary for the functioning of the switch. Only way around it is to switch (heh) to capacitive switches like Topre.

Personally, I think it's good enough.

QUOTE(xbbshampoo @ Aug 7 2014, 11:47 AM)
thx for the reply guys. btw, can I rectify the issue by double tapping harder?  sweat.gif
*
Doesn't work that way.

Because there is a debounce needed for MX switches, the release point is not the same as the actuation point, therefore accurate double taps require the user to release the switch to a position slightly higher than the actuation point BEFORE pressing it again.

user posted image

The graph above characterises the problem that I'm talking about. The release, tactile and the actuation points are all different. This is an inherent weakness in the design of the switch itself (contact point switches), which can be solved using other switches like capacitive (Topre), Hall effect, buckling spring or other switches.

Nonetheless, it is a relatively minor issue as the points are at most 1.2mm apart at worst, so heavy handed people (like me) never felt the issue unless I'm doing very rapid double taps.

tl;dr - pull your finger higher instead of pressing harder for double taps.

Just looking at the plate layout at the moment, please ignore the choice of costar stabs (later versions will accomodate both costar and cherry, as well as PCB and plate mount).

Also ignore the choice of keys filling up the sides.

Main goal is to utilize a TKL set of keycaps without much modification (albeit a little waste at the moment).

Final version will, of course, support both tsangan and moogle layouts.

Let me know if there are any interested parties smile.gif

p/s: still looking for PCB designer smile.gif

Yup. SP's ABS on blues are divine to type on.

My opinion:
Tactile: Cherry profile thick PBT or SA profile thick ABS.
Clicky: DCS profile ABS.
Linear: never liked linear switches :|

Yeah. If I get the Novatouch, I will mod the case to the max. Prolly splurge for a TKL alu case and just keep the innards.

it's not the switch that has rgb led i believe. i think they redesign the pcb to fit in 4 legged rgb led, but then again, i may be wrong tongue.gif
*
That's easy, right? I mean just put another 2 holes? The switch housing has enough space for it what.

it's easy to include 2 more holes for the led switch of course, but i'm not too sure about the overall "difficulty" of restructuring the pcb after adding/changing another micro-controller for the rgb led.  tongue.gif

I think dual layer PCB can easily cater for this. Front and back, yo.

Ergodox can't do it because it uses the same layout front and back, but I guess if you're only planning to use it in one orientation then you can easily incorporate two layers?
