Many ways to beat her, unfortunately she is also one of the most random boss in the game.

Some say you can cheese her and try to get in a position between the back of her tentacles. You can then just hack and slash away until she flys off and you just rinse and repeat until she is in phase 2. By then you need to start dodging and attacking when you get the chance.

There was also another strat where you can trap her near the corridoor's entrance. It's very risky as you WILL get hit a lot, but if your Vit is high enough and you can withstand her attacks, just deal everything you have with a bolt paper.

The Great Lake rune helps too btw, so equip it if you have it.

They're actually quite easy. Kill the chikage one first because he's the fastest out of the 3 and also the biggest threat. Very easy to parry and visceral.
After that kill the one with the fireball throwing dude, he will use his own sword as well so remember to parry and visceral if you can.

Once 2 of the shadows died, the third one will go into phase 3 and summon snakes. They're easy to dodge, but make sure not to get hit as they deal A LOT of damage.

All 3 shadows are weak to bolt attacks too btw. So if you have a couple of bolt papers, use them. Their HP will melt like ice cream.

You could just got all 3 endings by backing up your save, don't have to go through NG+ and NG++.

You need either Iosefka or Arianna to be alive (at least before killing Rom), but since neither of them are then that means you're screwed. Need to go into NG+ to get the remaining cord.

Good luck trying to cheat when facing him in Chalice Dungeons.

Depth 4/5. He can also appear in Defiled Chalice dungeons too, good effin' luck with that. I died like 15 times before finally beating him.

I faced him twice so far. Ailing Loran layer 3 and lower loran layer 2.

1) He's very weak to fire. Use molotovs or even better, fire paper on your highest dmg weapon.
2) Equip the Clear Deep Sea rune for +100 poison resist, can be found in the Forbidden Woods (which is why it is better to go there first before fighting BSB).

Is your saw-cleaver upgraded?

Use your gun la.

1) Yes. I started with Saw Cleaver, beat nearly all chalice dungeons with it, beat the game 4 times already, all with the Saw Cleaver. Honestly, any of the weapons are basically end-game material as long as you know how to use it and it fits you.

Alternative to the Saw Cleaver is the Saw Spear, it's slower but has slightly more range. Otherwise other fast weapons would be the Stake Driver, Reiterpallasch or Blades of Mercy. You cannot have both high damage and extremely fast weapon, the game doesn't work like that. So you should always keep 1 fast weapon with high DPS as your main and a slow weapon with high single damage on your secondary.


2) It's correct. Saw Cleaver scales with STR more than SKL. Although it doesn't have the best scaling on any attribute, its versatility makes up for it.

No you can't go back to normal mode unless you made a back-up save before you killed Gehrman. You can still PVP in NG+ and beyond, so what's the problem?

He's the most annoying boss in the game IMO. So I agree, he's an asshole.

Not much to say since you already know how to defeat him. Just keep at it. I died to him like 12 times before finally cheesing him to death.

Patch 1.04 coming next week. No details on the changelog yet.
Seriously hope the expansion is announced at E3 though. Can't wait to get back into the game after witcher 3.

Password matching can now be done regardless of level.
Password matching can now be done even if registered to a different oath.
Quicksilver bullets and blood vials can now be stored up to 600 (the previous limit was 99) in the storage in Hunter’s Dream.
Weapons and hunter tools have been tweaked, it will be mostly buffs.
A bug of the Rifle Spear has been fixed.
A bug with Blood Gem Imprints has been fixed.
Boss rewards in the Chalice Dungeons will be improved, they will now drop blood gems randomly.
Chalice dungeons will now include Blood Stone Shards at Depth 1, Twin Blood Stone Shards at Depth 2, Twin Blood Stone Shards and Blood Stone Chunks at Depth 3, Blood Stone Chunks at Depth 4 and Blood Stone Chunks and Blood Rocks at Depth 5.

YESSSSSSS!!! So now can co-op regardless of level! Obviously it breaks the difficulty curve, but I think it's a good change since it gives people an OPTION to do so.

I think it's a good additional option. I mean, when you hit the hard cap for all the stats, it is so damn lonely that it is not funny. Majority of people only hit a hardcap for ONE single stat, not all.

And it's a chore WAITING for friends to catch up to you.


Well you should start. It's a lot of fun going through depth 5 Isz defiled chalice. Everyone dies in 1 hit, regardless of stats or EQ.

It's about the game kicking your ass so hard that you wonder why you still continue to play it.

Well good news is that since you are already in NG+, farming for BE should be very easy. Level up a little, get that stat hardcap you need and start destroying the first half of the required chalice dungeons. Should be very easy for you.

The only difficult ones are the Defiled Pthumerian chalice and to some extent, the Pthumeru Ihyl chalice.


Same here. It's not that PVP is undoable, it's the fact that somehow the connection between the servers is just too finicky. Too much delay between attacks!
