No wor, during the Maxis 3G roadshow recently, they always perli that 3G is 10 times faster than Edge, I doubt that they support Edge, maybe DiGi only. The only silly company to use Edge.

I think Maxis does have EDGE coz my sister's Motorola v3x does show the 2.5G icon when there is no 3G. BTW that phone have 2G, 2.5G and 3G icons

Dats just marketing to consumers

of coz maxis got edge. same thing like digi if they wanted jump to 3.5G or 4 in future, they still need to apply 3G license.

Hey, I would like to ask u guys, we will receive a sms notification for 3G activation, right? Read it on the hotlink website. Still wating for the sms from maxis to activate my 3G. Been requesting yesterday but until today still no sms.

I tot right now hotlink is waiving the activation fees until 31 Dec to activate 3G n GPRS? Are u using those old hotlink simcard?

U can try type *136# then call/send to check whether ur sim card capable for 3G, if ur sim card is 64kb shouldn't need to pay anything or/and change the sim card.

Ya la.. I remembered last time they only charged me to upgrade from 32kb to 64kb simcard at Maxis service centre. Should be no problem using 3G using those 64kb simcard. But I am still waiting for those activation sms!

Yup. I got an sms saying I have to wait to received something in 2 hours time. Didn't get anything after that.

Not really, normally after activated u can use almost immediately.

just make sure the wap & mms setting correct

I think that's not a sms, it's more like a notification after hitting the call / send button. Same here, your 3G command is in process, wait for 2 hours, something like that. Hai ........ After that, nothing happens.

u can use 3G or Gprs straight away once u have dload the setting..

or maybe u can restart ur fon if still cannot use 3g/gprs

Anyway, back to the topic. Have u tried any video calls yet after that? I've downloaded all the setting from hotlink website already. mms, gprs 3G etc using k610 settings but haven't tried video call yet. I've tried using GPRS but failed.

I select k610i setting and install. Try search at google. lightning fast.
