QUOTE(tiensong @ Oct 27 2014, 11:54 AM) Don't know....Electron team has a lot of problem...I am not their fan.. I am in the group of another potential dev......Austtin.....development of Ultra ROM.....he is working hard day and night to release his v3.0........almost done...95% of all note 4 ported to note 2 successfully.....will be released soon by this week or next week......I know because I am in his whatsapp group chat....everyday got screenshots to see....nice!!! note 4 spen features and note 4 recent apps are two things I would like the most...... That's really nice to know. Actually if Note 2 had an FHD screen it would still be relevant as a flagship. 720p is now all midrange. Power Save mode with grayscale will be really super for Note 2 battery life, I bet.

QUOTE(Prissy Elf @ Nov 10 2014, 11:26 AM) Dear all, I just bought a Samsung 32GB EVO UHS-I Class 10 Micro SDHC card. The read speed is around 14MB/s and write speed around 10MB/s on my Note II (GT-N7100 non-rooted). Tested with A1 SD Bench app. Is that what I should be getting? Read on the packaging that transfer speed is up to 48MB/s. Thanks! That's the max speed of the card. The reader speed also affects it. The Note 2 may have a slower reader since it was 2 years ago.

QUOTE(Connect2USales @ Nov 18 2014, 12:43 PM) Guys.. Need some experts assistance.. A friend of mine told me her n2 screen totally blackout. Unable to see anything anymore. She wanted to retrieve the contacts from her phone. (She using Google account to sync but nothing was sync to her google account) She asked around those service centre, but instead of helping her, all of them ask her to fix the phone instead. Is there any way she can retrieve the contacts without fixing the screen? Any assistance is greatly appreciated Try connecting to an MHL adapter and see if the screen is viewable.

QUOTE(kamikraze @ Dec 17 2014, 09:14 PM) I kinda doubt that.. as my current note2 cant last that long.. maybe battery need to change.. but SOT around 3-4 hours only.. flash back to stock rom previously.. QUOTE(waveweaver @ Dec 17 2014, 09:42 PM) Duhh..just ask joytestOr you can check the Note2 battery usage history in 1st page. I manage 10hours myself thou some can get 11hous SOT. Yes, actually battery life was tops on the early 4.1.2 ROMs. However, attrition takes its toll, and obviously if you're still on the battery that came with the phone when you bought it, it would have degraded. Change a new battery.

QUOTE(TyroneS @ Dec 17 2014, 09:27 PM) Android already is open source, why should you pay for it? As long u have cpu, motherboard, memory, ram u can make ur own android system. or thinking another way, it's still a system name linux but optimized for mobile currently and starting to become a platform for all, which is eco system apple want to build, google digging into the way and coming from window 10 *they say they did on windows 10* Note 2 is still the most moddable Samsung to date. If Note 2 had come with an FHD screen, I would have kept it. After using the Note 3 with its FHD screen, my eyes couldn't bear the sight of HD 720p.

QUOTE(rjflyguy @ Dec 18 2014, 10:10 PM) Yupp.... my wife's Note3 is a pleasure to look at... But since my Note2 has served me very well all these years, I have some sentimental value for my Note2. If I upgrade to other phone also this Note2 will be in my keep as my backup phone... hehehehe.... Thinking of rooting my Note2 this weekend and use other ROM such as Ditto but my rooting and flashing ROM skill has gone into the drain with my HTC Desire long time ago... hahaha.... Note 2 Toolkit by mskip...easiest method. Once you've done that, CWM/TWRP flash any ROM.

I bought a Raspberry Pi, RM139, thinking of using it for a small webserver.
However the performance was fairly awful, so much so that I'm thinking of getting an old Android, like maybe a Note 2, to handle this.
Not sure how many of you know that you CAN install fairly full blown Linux onto the Note 2. I tried once, but never made use of it.
A secondhand Note 2 at perhaps around 500-600 will blow the Pi out of the water performance-wise any day, except maybe for connectivity like multiple USB and GPIO.

QUOTE(diela86 @ Jan 24 2015, 10:11 PM) Do you know how much i can trade in my note 2? Anywhere between 400-700 depending on condition I guess, for individual sale. Way less at an outlet. Maxis probably guarantees 200

QUOTE(neuromancerx @ Jan 26 2015, 04:42 PM) joytest how's your experience using N4? worth to jump? still deciding between N3 and N4. Note 4 is snappier than Note2 for sure, but overall, Note3 would represent a more worthwhile device. I admit I hardly ever use the UV or heart rate sensor on the N4, whereas I do make use of the ambient temp sensor on the Note 3 and miss that. The only reason I got the Note 4 was coz they gave me a free Gear S for getting the Note 4, which I felt was worthwhile. The Note 3 is a real steal currently, and many custom ROMs exist especially for the Snapdragon version. If you don't want to spend too much, Note 3. If you have the budget, get whatever you feel you like then. This post has been edited by joytest: Jan 26 2015, 06:22 PM

QUOTE(jitshiong @ Feb 23 2015, 10:40 PM) Anyone experience the note 2 just died off for no reason? My case, charged to ~95%, took out the charger phone not responding but still have notification light. Pushed the power button, selected restart. Then it just won't turn back on.... Tried everything.... Either your phone died from SDS, or the battery died. It can happen.

QUOTE(Human Nature @ Mar 5 2015, 03:06 PM) understood, thanks..i am having second thoughts too. You could actually get an Orico DCP-5U 12V 5port charger. 5 ports, 2 x 2A and 3 x 1A. Smart chip can supply 2A to most devices when the usual ciggy lighter car chargers can't detect devices properly. I have used it in my car, since it uses a standard 12VDC port and can be fed directly via the car ciggy socket.
