doh.gif Got myself into deep shit. I kinda ripped the middle air-cond vent assembly off the dashboard cause I thought it's just sitting on plastic legs. Turns out there's actually four screws securing the middle air vent assembly to the dashboard from the inside doh.gif. Now my only solution is to either remove the entire dash to attempt to remove and fix it, or attempt to loosen the screws by trying to squeeze my hands and a small screwdriver into the small space doh.gif.

I tried removing the air-cond duct in the middle, but looks like it's not removable through the front because it seems to have two legs at the side.

xandras Help please icon_question.gif. How to remove the dash of the Persona?

Did anyone here had ever tried before to fix the noise from dashboard?? Annoying la weiiii  mad.gif

And by using ceramic brake pad, can it reduce the brake noise? (the "rubber" sound when car is near to stop)

Ahhhh noisesssss

Gosh. I'm trying to figure out how to remove the dash board. Looks like I'll be paying a visit to someone who can do it for me soon doh.gif.

I don't like the brakes that come on pretty strongly even with a light press, like my dad's car doh.gif. Langsung cannot do a jerk free stop. Persona on the other hand has a perfect brake response for me.

On a side note, I went to a regular air-cond shop to get a quotation. If everything goes well, I'll be having a full air-cond service which includes removing the dashboard that'll be over RM300 cry.gif. On the bright side I can now add some Insulflex into the dash and do some improvements to the inner workings of the dashboard to prevent any unwanted dashboard noise. So far I don't have any dashboard noise, but I have air-cond vents noise. The middle air-cond vent assembly will be replaced tomorrow, and if the side vents are cheap, I'll probably get them replaced as well.

Uh huh. Air-cond servicing for a Persona, if inclusive of cleaning the cooling coil apparently requires the removal of the dashboard. doh.gif So since I'll have to remove the dash to get to the screws on the other side for the middle outlet assembly, I may as well have it done at the same time. Otherwise I'll be paying over RM200 for dashboard removal alone doh.gif.

RM110 gone doh.gif. Shouldn't have accepted the new lousy original side vents for the Persona. They're even more loose than the old ones and make sound more frequently. I don't know if the air-cond shop accepts returns or not, or maybe buy-back at a lower price. hmm.gif The middle new original vents from a Proton parts dealer here seems pretty OK, but with a slight color difference between the top and bottom panels. A slight eye sore sleep.gif

I've been engaging N while almost close to a stop at traffic lights, engaged N during traffic jams where I'm sure it'd be awhile before I start moving again, close to two years. I haven't had any problems with my gearbox so far, but maybe it's too early to tell cry.gif

What's the actual definition of floaty anyway? To me it's the car being bouncy/swaying while passing objects and there's the actual feeling of traction being lost and gained randomly/rapidly while at a certain speed, which is not the case for the Persona, or at least mine. Excessive body roll (in my view), yes, at a certain speed, e.g over 170KM/H with my Persona's soft shitty tyres at the tunnel of the LDP near the Tropicana City Mall.

Bodo. 170kmh body roll through corner u mati d la. LDP tunnel at tropicana samore. That tunnel I think 110-120degrees turn. You wanna win godcar?

I think what you meant was understeer. Body roll & understeer is two different things.

whistling.gif Have you ever heard of what some people would say either on the internet or in real about Proton owners, especially the ones who buy the Suprima S? cool2.gif I have one friend that was like "what for buy suprima S at 80k might as well buy City". He's like many people (or bashers) who seem to be unable to grasp the definition of priority or needs, and would buy a car just because many people say it's good / very good.

hi all,

need to ask, the driver's seat cant adjust the height for the SV?
*
The backrest? Its adjustable. But if it's height adjustment, i.e lower or higher for the lower seat, no.

Edit: Just had my first experience in a car with a B16A engine today. cool2.gif Super duper nice. About a short distance later I kept making the car die with my noob skills sleep.gif, had to let the owner retake the driver seat.

Ya i just found also and my mom in law cant adjust it, anyway we could buy a seat that's adjustable?
*
No idea as I have no experience. You could look around for one, maybe. Alternatively you could throw away your boat and buy a luxury car like the god car Vios, or maybe the almost Vios equivalent, the City. They won't just solve your seat issues, they'll make you look better in your mom-in-law's eyes brows.gif.

why u said it low millage ?that car already 3 years old .... how to determine it?
*
I was just thinking from the typical car usage point. But I suppose it is indeed possible. The used car market is so full of cars with altered mileage anyway to make it a reasonable suspicion.
