Didnt notice on the first page say to avoid using Shell engine oil, went for 1000km service and that service center use Shell. Really notice a rough engine sound after 3k rpm.

Any service center to recommend that use others engine oil.

Lel. I think you haven't seen enough cars then. My abah's cucuki's rear brake pads produce dust like fak. Luckily the rims design is simple so cleaning them is pretty easy.

Castrol semi syn.. 10w40 engine oil. Reached 5k change engine oil. the engine oil still look clear... Not like others cars... very black..
Anyway dun use semi sync for 10k.. engine performance will be low.. and harm ur engine.

well, my bro in law just change his Exora brake pads (front) costly about RM300 , change it at SC rawang

agree. Used castrol edge fully 5k sudah dark. then need to change. quite sakit hati to change fully out at 5k. but then not sure true or not, fully seems to clean the engine better.

Check lvl must start engine meh?
Dark is good, dark is healthy. 

go to that extreme meh? haha. but you can do lab then ok lah. I think need more durable engine to tahan long time no change. if wanna keep the car for more than 5 years need good maintenance record. if those track car or modding then no need lah. coz later on will change many parts in the engine.

not bad. having a very good result there. but just wanna know the result when you increase your oil interval. will you do this lab test for long run?

10k km OCI is fair enough actually. even though it seems like doing longer OCI if condition allows seems like ok but just doesn't sound safe although it doesn't make real damage like what your car have. Maybe it will make big different when it is on a dyno where fresh oil possibly have better performance compared to oil that have been used for 10K?
at least you got other cars to test and got the source to do all this. Most people just doesn't wanna risk it without knowledge.

is true for the 5k km/3month in the past due to most if i am not mistaken actually use mineral oil at most semi synthetic for their car which is true for my house.
as technology advance it is quite justifiable for them to extend the OCI. The change shows an improvement and change in Era.
Basically like I said the difference in oil will be more noticable in dyno more on performance vehicle where every inch count while for us it is not. The info you provided to us is very informative and it give us more in depth knowledge that is proven instead of myth. Thanks for the sharing anywhere.
One thing to note on is car companies nowadays tries to tie the car owner down with warranty and the extended warranty and OCI actually makes them not able to go other places to service their car. Unless the car is so reliable and owner doesnt mind paying if something broke down, it is still advisable to follow the service center.
