also any semi syn can put 1% synthetic base stock and call it semi when 99% is just mineral base stock.
pretty much why they just don't last beyond 4-7k km depending on which semi syn you bought.

my engine oil drained out fully dark, however from lab report, i can easily go AT LEAST until 11k or even 20k km.

amsoil guaranteeing 25k miles is no joke tongue.gif

for my inspira, yea will be doing it until i am getting the results i am looking for consistently or i am switching my EO.

won't be using longer OCI because of proton 10k km service schedule.
i have however done 14-16k km oci on my iswara/sentra and they've never had any degradation in performance up till the point the oil is drained.

engine cleanliness, my iswara internals are still shiny last i check... (there's a picture of it posted time to time lol)
Sentra not as clean because it was never rebuilt like the iswara did. however there's no signs of sludge or whatsoever and it's timing chain is dirt/sludge free aka perfect condition. (both cars opened valve cover to replace the gasket)

well it doesn't sound safe enough because the general malaysians were used to 5k km/3 months for the longest time until recently (last 2-3 years ish?) more/most SC started practicing 10k km.

If an EO has not break down on additives/degraded in performance, i doubt it'd make much difference on a dyno; At most a few hp difference compared a car that's just gotten it's oil changed vs a car that's already on 20k km extended OCI without it's EO broken down. And just few HP isn't going to make or break your driving experience especially on an econobox wink.gif

and as you said, knowledge is key here, and so long you wish for it, there are plentiful of ways in obtaining knowledge biggrin.gif

One thing to note on is car companies nowadays tries to tie the car owner down with warranty and the extended warranty and OCI actually makes them not able to go other places to service their car.
