QUOTE(vey99 @ Jun 10 2014, 04:53 PM) there are many style of making kuih. vey99, i found tht our local kuih majorities are made with these 3 ingrediant, pandan, gula melaka, shreded coconut.there is steam and fried. there are fillings, layers, coating, wrapping. finale the shapes. i think a lot of our local kuih are the steam variety. is just the variation of the amount of each ingredient placed and how it was prepared. |

QUOTE(dfoodfeeder @ Jun 22 2014, 06:28 PM) however you want it to taste. it's basically flour, water and <main ingredient>. use shrimps, then it's called cucur udang. use anchovies, then cucur ikan bilis. use banana, then cucur pisang. those are the common ones. the shape, normally it doesn't look like that, some people just like to improvise. about the kueh lompang. lompang is a negeri sembilan dialect for lempang. in english, 'slap'. get it? |
