I use darklight.
It can kill as fast as pre-patch 2.1 @ T6.
Could it be placebo?

DH is different when you do grift.
Because DH just cast and run.
However, for Crusader, you need to do close range attack. You can't cast and kill.

Don't think its placebo.

My crusader is my main actually, but after the patch, at T5, I can die in Core of Arreat.

I don't know if it could due to the Elites having deadly prefixes or not but T5 is really stressing to play in. Haha.

That's weird. My darklight Cru has fewer deaths since Blizz fix RD in patch 2.1.
It was always RD that killed my darklight Cru.

I felt that after 2.1, T6 is abit faster to clear but they also do abit more dmg

Holy shotgun & Darklight build still going VERY strong in 2.1... Dayum the game still insist not to drop a Darklight ot me! (Maybe because it's easier to achieve perma AC with Darklight build + much faster atk speed)

Agree! For some reason my group can clear T6 faster now.

Maybe I need to do some tweaking with my build...

as for crusader builds go, i'm using condemn build with the blade of prophecy combined with the new zero cooldown shield. very nice for low torments. i even use it for torment 4 rifting just fine.

Ive seen one in forums doing 150m crit bash with furnace on

roland set melee build . doing good on T6/T5.

agree not as good as Akkan set on higher GR because cant Perma AC.
some say this set can not go higher than GR30

but who care atleast i got different play style.
Crusader is suppose to be melee class. boring with firestater/shortgun build ..
conclusion this is not endgames set . but can farm T6 sambil makan kacang

The most important thing from the CDR calculations is what is the downtime for your akkarat champion skill.

Sure you could aim for 0 downtime, but my preference is within 3-4 seconds. Because this gives me room to spend points elsewhere e.g. CHD/CHC


from what i've seen the ideal CDR for me is...

12.5 CDR from HELM

90-100% of gem effect in helm. Let's just say it's 8 CDR (this is from the new 2.1 leoric's crown). keep in mind though the effect is maxed at 100% so that means if you socket a diamond it's gonna be 12.5 with another 12.5 (multiplicative not additive of course).

8 CDR vigilante belt

10 CDR shield

8 CDR shoulders

8 CDR gloves

10 CDR from paragorn ( i think you need paragorn lv 200 for this )

akkan set is reduce all abilities cooldowns by 50% while akkarat's is active.



In total that is 48.10 % CDR

which translates as a downtime of 3.36 seconds on Akkarat's champion.

phalanx bowmen 2.79 seconds

shield glare 2.23 seconds

steed - endurance 5.3 seconds

laws of justice - 10.57 seconds

provoke 6.38 seconds

steel skin (iron skin) - 8.57 seconds

condemn (no downtime with the new season shield for condemn. just maybe a 0.3 seconds of delay on recast)




So i don't quite feel the need for CDR on the following items

- weapon
- both rings
- amulet


You could however argue that, rather than use paragorn points on the 10 cdr, you rather use those points on CHD instead, so that you can put the 10 CDR in weapon instead. That is a valid arguement, and i honestly hadn't done the math yet to know if that is the best way to go or not :} But my guess is that, once you are paragorn 600+ where you can afford to get all paragorn stat points, then 10 CDR in weapon is not ideal imho.



I had looked at the roland's set but honestly i am not convinced about a build around it. Condemn (HOLY) and phalanks (physical) are currently one of the best atm. Shotgun (HOLY) is still good, but it has taken a back seat behind those 2 newer ones in terms of potential.

So akkhans set to me is best in slot for condemn, and also can double up for shotgun build. The only stats to replace is the heaven's fury/condemn.

Gogok seems like a good alternative to get 15% cd with 15% atk speed
But not reliable getting max even at 75% with foth and heaven fury on a solo target / grguardian

Found a neat bop weapon. Used my gift on it and enchanted 10% dmg.

I know i said cdr is not needed in a final build for condemn, but considering i am low paragorn at the moment, i opted to get cdr so i could use condemn. So the choices for a beginner to mid level sader, you either cdr your weapon or your shield. also one of them needs vitality, so depending on what you get make sure you have the stats needed on one piece or the other.

As for why i have CDR in amulet, that is because i have don't have a better substitute. Also my RORG has CDR which is not needed, and is better of being CHD ideally for my case. So seeing as both these items have cdr, i then opted to make use of a bad situation so i just use ruby in my helm to farm EXP in the meanwhile. Seeing as my CDR is sufficient already so why not.

My chest, glove, belt, shoulders, helm, pants, boots and weapon are perfect. I know they are shy of 100%, but in my view 85-90% from perf is just fine Even a 3.6k dps blade of the prophet is nothing to scoff at, though it would have been nice had it been 3.8 or higher. But from my testing 3.6k bop works fine in T6 and Grifting.

My bad pieces so far are the rings, amulet and shield. Shield lacks condemn which i need. Amulet lacks a socket. rorg lacks CHD, and the other ring ideally i would want a holy stone of jordan, although a unity which i do have is also viable in 2nd place, though i am using leorics for EXP farming for now.


legendary gems

legendary gems.... i recommend

1. boon of the hoarder= gold is amazing. very op right now so why not ? i am already 600million + gold now using this (swap this out for the other 3 gems below when doing grifting)

2. bane of the trapped = use with provoke for a boost in dps

3. mirinae teardrop of the starweaver = the proc rate may seem low, but look at the secondary which is a guaranteed proc every 5 seconds. It's holy dmg and does a lot of it to a single target. Condemn is strong in aoe, so this gem covers the single dps that you may lack.

4. bane of the powerful = this is very good. I would strongly recommend you use horse endurance to make good use of this gem, as you need to move from pack to pack while this buff is still active. not to mention the passive increase dmg to elites !!!





about the build

akarat champion prophet is a must .... it's way too good to ignore not getting. This combined with indestructible, and a short cooldown due to CDR stacks is amazing. This combined with condemn vacuum you can fast clear rifts/grifts :} Not to mention that without a slot for phase boots, it's then up to vacuum + horsey combo to help you grab creeps efficiently.

one thing i noticed was i was spending more time spaming condemn, than having the time to deal left click primary skill in my case smite - reaper. Even trying to renew the effect was taking away time from just spaming the higher dps condemn skill. So i'm thinking the ideal build would replace that for Laws of valor (either critical or unstoppable force). But the cache is, you would then need the passive long arm of the law. But not enough passive slots to fit ? This is where the new ubers amulet comes in. Get 1 of the 5 passives i suggest in this build, and your set

in summary

Having my condemn gear ready, i switched to condemn quite easily.

Tested a few builds but ended up using the vacuum condemn because it made runs faster.

My S1 paragorn is not as high as others because i didn't exploit the grift exp trick which many did :/ i think some of them will get bans.

I normally play it as tanker (with darklight+0 CD Prophet AC) and friends or teammate will be heavy DPS.
Blind/provoke/law of justice for protect them and my self. Only 1 skill I can spam is fist of heaven or heaven fury.

Prophet AC and Indestructible is use for safe my ass

Currently searching for good ring and hellskull. Any good ring recommended?

hm... stone of jordan and rorg are usually the main choices.

pre 2.1 bulkhathos ring was recommended for firestarter, but not sure if that has changed. As far as i know they had placed a cap on it so it doesn't scale out of control in greater rifts. Some people told me though that it's doing okay.
