Just got my mi3 and hand itchy tried to go into fastboot mode by pressing volume down + power button. And now it's stuck there!

Long press the power button, that should turn off or reboot.

I managed to get the code at the back of the box verified.

But imei and serial seems to keep failing. I managed to get into their recovery mode which they say where the originals would get into... Tried cpu-z too, hopefully its original. Hmm... Just dont know why the imei and serial cannot pass through. I used the box and back sticker serial.

Messaging (SMS) what apps u all use? Default app or third party app? I found that the default app got problem. Which is the SMS doesn't show the contact name, only the phone number instead. Anybody had a same question with me?

Default sms & whatapps no problem, my worked like a charm.

SMS & whatspps shows sender name.

Maybe u should scroll back pages by pages to find solutions... lol

yes, it is worst and not clear.

even on hand free, the sound is very low and can't really hear the voice of the callers.

is anyone using stable rom and the whatsapp audio quality bad as well?

i was wrong upgrade using wrong file

whatsapp audio quality is bad is due to hardware limitation. nothing much we can do. Mi3 don't come with a good audio chip aka DAC.

I've found some info from another forum..

As I don't have another phone to try it, i've seen some using z ultra, sgs3/s4/s5 are having the issue too.
not sure how truth is it...
