"THQ has announced that the sequel to last year's Company of Heroes will be a DirectX 10 extravaganza.
The original CoH, acclaimed as one of the greatest RTS titles ever made, was a pretty good looking affair, with all the latest spangly DX9 effects that Nvidia's techs could help developer Relic muster up.
The game will be out in Q3 2007. The proprietary Essence Engine, developed in-house by Relic, will be upgraded to support a dynamic weather system and more realistic physics, as well as the graphical joys of Shader Model 4.0.
It's certainly one of the titles that owners of the GeForce 8800, and upcoming buyers of the Radeon 2900, should have on their radar. The number of titles that will be utilising all that hardware this year are looking slim, with Crysis still number one on the short list. Of course, since DirectX 10 is Windows Vista only, the availability of the sequel to one of the greatest games ever made exclusively on Windows Vista should sell Microsoft a few copies of its new OS or, at least, keep PirateBay busy for a while yet."
seem like it's DX10 only. damn nvidia pairing up with m$ to sell their stuff. if only piratebay can give free DX10 card to top torrent user lol...
