what model of monitor? can show us the photo of the loose power cord area?
*
Dell U2515H

cant exactly show the loose cord area, cause the 3 pin power cord fits

but just abit of movement, the monitor would lose power and turn off sweat.gif

Bro,
My GC is HD7950 with DVI max resolution of 2560x1600.

If i buy dell U2515H monitor with 2560x1440, can match?
*
what do you mean by match? hmm.gif

modern cards are equipped with connectors that support 4K no problem

I mean d resolution. Boz gc is 1600, whereas monitor is 1440.
*
dual link DVI supports max 2560x1600 resolution, your HD7950 should come with Display Port which allows up to 4K resolution (3840x2160)

no issue at all

Tq bro.
So display port is higher resolution than dvi or hdmi?
*
these are the max each type of connector can display

DisplayPort 1.2 - 4K at 60Hz
HDMI 1.4 - 4K at 30Hz
Dual Link DVI - 2560x1600 at 60Hz

Dual Link DVI is DVI-D?

It means if our gc and monitor has all the connections, the best is use Display Port ?
*
no, there are 4 types of DVI with single or dual link

read abit on these, i know its confusing, but it helps when dealing with DVI stuff
http://www.lindy-usa.com/tips/DVIGuide.html

EDIT: depends on what youre using for

if 1080p monitors, you do fine with DVI, DP or HDMI

>1080p is where you need DP or DL-DVI
HDMI cant support >1080p really well unless its the latest HDMI version

DP is considered the superior cable as it allows daisy chaining and supports 4K with no issues compared to HDMI

Just bought U2412m, everything fine, no bright/dark pixel, black level is good, but the problem is white colour not uniform.
At left corner the white appear "yellowish and brighter" than the rest particular noticeable with white background.

Grey background noticeable a little but not as bad as white.

Strangely, other colour, red, green, blue, even black, the colour seems quite ok and uniform.

I don't know this is called bleeding or IPS glow.
It said bleeding, it should be noticeable with black background, but it doesn't.
Only with white/light grey background.  sad.gif

The factory preset is too "yellowish" in the first place, just like many complain the yellow tint issue.
But able to set into proper "white" after refer to icc profile on the net.
*
this, i noticed even my U2515H is yellowish as compared to my ICC profile calibrated U2312HM

I don't know why Dell factory preset being set at so "yellowish" for white.
Their factory ambient lighting?

Last time using U2209WA, 4 monitor all "white" and uniform across, no issue. Don't need to do anything.

For the new U2412m, I need to spend considerable of time to calibrate between the RGB to get the proper "white" using try and error method.  doh.gif
*
the sad part of using U2515H is that its relatively new, so there isnt much ICC profile to test around at all :/

unless im willing to manually tweak and test

Juz get my dell U2715H, =333, Ordered last tuesday and arrived today. Question, my old monitor dont have DP port, only hdmi. Should i stick with HDMI? or should I use Dp port instead?
*
i dont understand, why would you want to use DP if your old monitor cant utilise DP? rclxub.gif

HDMI have limitations, dont use it for >1080p resolutions

biggrin.gif lol i mean my old monitor dont have dp port even tho my gpu have. So  I not sure whether dp port is better or HDMI is better. Since now i using 2560 x 1440 resolution, so it is better if i use dp port right? Btw does dp port have audio like HDMI?
*
DP > HDMI anytime

DP carries audio as well. HDMI (at least the older revisions) have enough bandwidth for 1920x1080 at 60Hz only

DP supports up to 4K at 60Hz

Thanks for your reply. However, I am looking to maintain the 2560 x 1440 resolution and HDMI will not suffice.

DVI to DP connectors, rather rare to find in Msia, but it exists

Though... that's a DP to DVI... it could be a cable pass-through... or a digital converter... but, I suspect the former...

I personally have one or 2 units (cable pass-through)...
*
i thought it can go both ways? hmm.gif

correct me if im wrong though

hi..i already bought DELL U2414H.
but, i'm not satisfied with stock setting of this monitor.
compare with my DELL U2312HM stock setting which is much better than U2414H..
can anyone share how do i get the best color setting for this monitor?(without using hardware calibration)
*
adjust your settings to online ICC profiles

try at this site's ICC profile
http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/articles/icc_profiles.htm

as close you can get without hardware calibration

I'm looking for an IPS monitor (23-24") and I've narrowed my choices down to:-
1) Dell U2412M
2) Dell P2414H
3) Dell U2414H (need a DVI-HDMI adaptor as my GC only has a DVI output)

From what I read, the P2414H & U2414H uses the same panel so the image quality should be the same? Does anyone know if there is a significant difference between the "U" & "P" to justify the price difference?

At the moment, I'm leaning towards to P2414H as it is cheaper and uses a newer IPS panel as compared to the U2412M and it's cheaper too.

Looking for a 2nd opinion before I make my decision  smile.gif
*
both are same panel afaik, E-IPS hmm.gif (U2412M to P24)

U2414H however, uses AH-IPS panel

U2412M is more expensive as its a 16:10 monitor

the P is 16:9

it wasn't good as U2312HM stock setting..
i do configure the monitor a bit..but still wasn't the best..
do care to share me ur own setting?
*
thats just you nit picking at best. those ICC profiles are from calibrated results laugh.gif

im using U25 and U2312H, all using ICC profiles from TFTCentral. so far both have been great

U25 stock was abit too blue, the ICC fixed it to a more warm expression
