I have a feeling it's hardware quality issue... but lets hope it is just software and can be rectified.

anyone selling original xiaomi clear screen protector?

mine all 2 got screwed due to the screen protector size tight fit with phone
*
Instead of spending more on the plastic screen protector, why not get a glass one? It's way easier to fit the glass one than the plastic ones. Glass ones you could still move it around before final fitment, and moreover, glass ones way less static to attract dust when installing.

Guys, I paid RM10 to Maxis to share this info with you. cry.gif

Be careful if you are using SIM without data plan in sim slot 2 and data plan SIM in sim slot 1.

Assuming you are outside and your current setting is 3G data active on sim 1 and 2G network active on sim 2, No Wifi connection. Then you come home/office connect to Wifi and switch off data sim 1 in order to save battery power. NOW HERE IS THE PROBLEM, The MiUI will automatically switch the mobile data option to sim 2 (No data plan) after sim 1 was switched off. Then you go out again and the moment your phone out of range with your home/office wifi network, the phone with automatically start using data on sim2 (no data plan) regardless of sim 1 is switched on or not.
To make matter worse, Maxis now changed its Pay As You Used charging block to 50MB @ RM10 per block. Meaning even you incurred only 1Byte, you will be charged RM10 for the first 50MB block.

haven't face the problem.

under settings > sim management > data connection .... can choose either 1 to be default. when i off the data, i don't off individual telco, but instead off it under mobile network settings (or the data shortcut toggle)

You are right about the bold part. But I'm talking about if one is using data only sim card in sim slot 1 then he will definitely disable the sim 1 to conserve battery power at home/office when wifi is available. After you disabled sim 1, MiUI will auto select sim 2 as default mobile data.

My Honor 3C has not such problem. Once WCDMA SIM 1 is selected as default data slot, the setting will stay and never change under all circumstances.

why don't you just turn off mobile data? not necessary to turn off sim 1 right? dun think can conserve much also even if you leave it on without using data

If you ask me, your suggestion is not a appropriate solution to the masses.
Even long time android user like me also kena auto data sim slot switching. Uncle, aunty sure kena kaw kaw if they use one voice sim and one dedicated data sim.

hmmm, perhaps. cus i use dual sim, both can be used as data or voice.

sim 1 : voice + data
sim 2 : voice only

when wifi is available, i'll just disable data (which will disable both sim 1 and sim 2 data). i guess if i am to disable sim 1, sim 2 will automatically be voice + data, unless i manually disable the data for sim 2

Your Voice only SIM 2 is subjected to data usage risk if MiUI doesn't keep the selected data sim slot permanently.

I found out about the data sim slot auto switch even before I kena Maxis RM10 PAYU charges because when I realised the MiUI switched the default mobile data to my Voice only sim on slot 2, ( At this point the Mobile data was switch off) I must turn on the mobile data in order to switch it back to sim 1. Unfortunately as soon as the mobile data was turned on, (before I can switch to sim 1) few Bytes of data already synced via back ground running apps. Immediately received SMS notification from Maxis that I'm now on Mobile Internet @ RM10/50MB per block.

I should have switch the data sim slot under WIFI connected environment so that mobile data network will not used.
