What are the bundled accessories ?
*
The same as the bundled pack as Redmi(MTK) in Singapore.

- 1 extra battery
- 1 desktop charger for extra battery
- 1 Soft Case for Redmi (choice of colours if not mistaken, bet nobody noticed in the rush)
- Choice of 1 pack of clear or matte screen protector.

Can't comment on the 1S, but, the Honor 3C shown in that link is a different version from the Malaysian set.

anyone selling original xiaomi clear screen protector?

mine all 2 got screwed due to the screen protector size tight fit with phone
*
Instead of spending more on the plastic screen protector, why not get a glass one? It's way easier to fit the glass one than the plastic ones. Glass ones you could still move it around before final fitment, and moreover, glass ones way less static to attract dust when installing.

First impressions on V34(updated via flashing V29 Fastboot ROM, and updated to V34 thru Mi Phone Manager before settting up anything), feels much smoother than V29. RAM usage/management seemed to be better, 300-400MB RAM available upon first boot.

V34.0 China Stable ROM is awesome! Better RAM management!
*
International ROM had also been updated to V34. Includes a fastboot room that you "flash all" if you don't mind starting from fresh. Totally liking it now.

so, should i update to v34? it keep popping up whenever i turn on wifi.  still dont see a better picture of its performance  from what you all have discussed. Im still on 27.
*
V34 is a good upgrade over V27, much better RAM management now. I think if you do a OTA update, it'll be the V35 now unless you had the V34 pre-downloading onto your phone when you got yourself connected to WiFi.

QUOTE(Anonymous34 @ Aug 12 2014, 10:41 PM)
They have fastboot ROM for the international version now? Awesome!
*
Yes, Fastboot ROM for Malaysia is available, unfortunately they pulled that V34 version and replaced with V35, Thank God I still have a copy on my PC. Personally starting to feel those Mi Cloud pop up warnings are starting to feel annoying! Might flash it back to V34.

QUOTE(xperiaVuser @ Aug 12 2014, 10:48 PM)
Can you please tell me, where did you get the fastboot ROM from?

*update: found it. http://en.miui.com/thread-21812-1-1.html
*
It's actually over here. That is the Chinese version. Fastboot ROM is country specific, unlike recovery ROM. No ideas why, but I like the fact that when you flash using fastboot ROM using the "flash_all" command, the phone goes back to factory defaults, including all the pre-loaded apps that I have already uninstalled on my previous use, flashing a recovery ROM surprisingly, I can't seem to get that done.

Not much difference, but due to the so called "privacy invasion" thing going on with Xiaomi in the media, personally, I'm getting sick of those kiasu-ish multiple warnings whenever I click on the cloud related services ever since the update.

v35 is good, not much difference from v34 except for the "new" security details due to the recent allegations regarding privacy.

I rather want to downgrade back to v34, all those prompts are annoying.

I see. Did you activate Micloud on your phone? I'm not getting any prompts probably because I'm not using Micloud/not activated.
*
Yes, Mi Cloud is activated, mainly for the Recorder and Find device functions, at least if my phone got snagged, I can at least hear any phone calls made and hopefully track the phone and wipe it. Cloud messaging is just, a little gimmicky, we wouldn't know who's on it until we try to SMS the person, I rather just stick with WhatsApp since 75% of my contacts use that.

QUOTE(ronaldkwok @ Aug 13 2014, 09:17 AM)
Can someone advise if the Whasapp notification icon comes on in V35? I'm on V27 and I never see the Whatsapp notification icon at the top even if there are incoming chats. Tried all the settings or I missed something?
*
You did miss something, it has got nothing to do with firmware version.

To turn on notifications for any installed app, do the following:
Settings --> Notifications --> Manage notifications --> From the list of the app, pick whatever app you're missing the notifications from --> And Enable both "show in notification shade" and "show in status bar".

QUOTE(joanalooidog @ Aug 13 2014, 10:25 AM)
the new fastboot rom v35 has better ram management? How about the battery drainage? Got improvement?
*
You don't have to flash fastboot if you don't know how to do it, just do the update via wifi thru the "Updater" app on the phone. RAM management is indeed better, battery, can't really say as it isn't my primary phone, seems to last almost the same to me.

Redmi Note is good. But it's creepy that some setting restore itself even I've set & saved it.... rclxub.gif

And I thought I was the only one, already sent some feedback on the MIUI forum, hopefully they get solved.

Thanks for the tip. I checked the notification settings for Whatsapp and found that both "show in notification shade" and "show in status bar" are already enabled. Yet I never see any Whatsapp notification. You do not have this issue and are you on V27or another version? Or any other Whatsapp user on on V27 having the same problem? Or is it the problem with Whatsapp? My version is 2.11.301
*
That's kinda odd that it still doesn't show when both are enabled. I had mine intentionally turned off at certain hours. There's no way to turn off notifications on WhatsApp itself either.

Silly question, but have you tried reinstalling your WhatsApp to see if it's fixed?

I was on V29 by default so I can't answer if it only happens on V27, why not just upgrade the firmware to V35(latest)? RAM management is way better, not much bugs as far as I know especially that annoying Mi Cloud warnings.

Now that xperiaVuser mentioned it, I forgot to mentioned my WhatsApp had been locked in memory all along, maybe that's why ronaldkwok is getting delayed notifications as the app had been cleared from memory, thus, not running in background.
