That box look like quite big.  thumbup.gif
*
It's small package actually. Inside the box they fit in all the thing you purchased. The box is really solid and strong, you can step on it without breaking, so don't worry if there's any mishandling unless it's thrown into water. biggrin.gif

Hola folks! Tempted to get the Mi3 as the current Nexus 4 is starting to show its age. Any former Nexus 4 owners here? Wondering how does the Mi3 compare to the Nexus 4. I'm aware of all the hardware differences, but looking to find out more about the interface and ease of use between the two devices.

Incidentally, I've read a number of reviews on the Mi3 that seem to have conflicting views on the material of the Mi3 body. Aluminium or plastic?
*
I'll answer your last questions. It has aluminium-magnesium alloy frame, which I believe it's the chassis of the phone, while the back casing is plastic.

Ah, gotcha! Got a little confused after reading a few reviews that mentioned that the rear casing is a metal (aluminium) one. Ta!
*
I wasn't so sure where they installed aluminium-magnesium, but some articles states that it's a frame, thus the best bet I can make is that there's a layer of aluminium-magnesium before the back casing. However it is fact that the back casing is made of plastic.

Sharing some close up pictures shot using Mi3's 13MP camera. Please excuse me for being novice in photography.

I'd captured with combination of Auto, Macro, and also HDR mode. All pictures is without alteration or editing.

Edit: nevermind, the image auto-resized. tongue.gif

In HDR mode, you can notice the crack line on the watch's glass.

WOW! the 1st pic of the watch looks awesome! pretty good ya the cam
*
In low light, it's an average performer. I do noticed that it can't take a real close up shot. I tried to focus a object with distance about 5cm, it can't focus at all.

QUOTE(koonghx @ May 22 2014, 09:04 PM)
Hmm.. Why is the HDR shot of hello kitty box seemed out of focus?
Overall it looks very good though.
*
Haha, might be my hand shook a bit that time. laugh.gif

Hmm.. just noticed mi3 selling slightly cheaper from SGP

http://www.mi.com/sg/mi3/

why aren't we buying from there  hmm.gif
*
Yes, slightly cheaper, you get to save RM5 plus a downside of not getting local warranty. You still want to save that RM5? laugh.gif

I know because I bought mine from SG.

They still not fix the OTG bug yet
*
Really? I haven't tried using OTG yet. The previous 4.5.19 build doesn't support too? Because I though they fixed it but doesn't list in the changelog.

flip case feels weird. need to use adhesive.
*
QUOTE(farhan0103 @ May 23 2014, 04:08 PM)
the adhesive doesnt spoil the back panel?
*
Not at all. You guys really need to get one before judging the quality of the adhesive. Don't doubt on 3M adhesive, their quality is no joke. I'm using it now, all I can say is it won't leave any residue.
