Just sent my kancil to do engine transplant. EF-DET is chosen. Now still thinking wat bodypart shud i get for my SLK.

hi guys ..wahh v4 liao...haiz this month quite bad leh..last week send my little kancil to workshop to repair..gear oil leak liao..see underneath exhaust pipe got gear oil ...thought just some minor repair..mechanic checked end up major repair lor...this car bought 2nd from fren ..here the list
driveshaft : 290
Timing belt kit: 150
Gear box oil: 40
drive shaft seal: 28
starter relay(hard to start previously): 38
4pcs lower arm bush : 32
2pcs stabilizer bush:16
engine mounting the long one only: 86

Nice, how much for the engine alone? What are included in your package for EF-DET bro? Auto or Manual?

Looks quite okay la not too expensive. But when I replaced my parts, I buy myself from my reliable sparepart shop.

Yours consider very minimum la. Mine include changes for all 4 tyres. Total expected to change wear and tear is close to RM3K Engine no problem at all. Only other parts. Hehe! Tinting not sure I Included or not. More like total spent on kancil so far from the day I bought.

yup bro..thats my trusted mechanic..recomend by alot ppl...send to this mechanic when after got the car liao haha...previous repair already spend almost rm600 also..aircon not yet service summore yet..now only left front absorber,tyre with l2s 9spoke rim,moderno front bodypart ,l5 skirt,l5 dashboard,sport exhaust,interior cleaning with sound insulation to be install at the floor..thats the thing left to do then will proceed to body paint liao ..still far away

any sifu can recomend what sport exhaust suit kancil? i really noob this kind of stuff scare later kena chop by exhaust workshop leh ..just no too loud noise is enough for me..thinking to get whole exhaust from middle pipe then just plug and play ok boh?

Guys, may i know L5 4piston n/a fuel consumption n its top speed?
Is there any common problem related to this engine?

Im not sure what type of sound u want? Bassy? Loud and annoying? Anyways, just make sure ur exhaust diameter is suitable for ur engine. As for u want to use middle pipe to muffler well it can be done but does those exhaust shop want to do it?
Go to chop shop that sell mira stuff and try ask for rsr magic. Sounds for me a bit annoying and do ask them how big is the muffler.
Myself use a jasma muffler, outlet around 2.5inch. Sound? When idle its sound really slow, but if i start full boost it will become kindda loud and bassy.


Sorry i dont know about fuel consumption.
As far as i know about problem, simple wear and tear problem and u have to accept that its an old engine, so problem will accur. However other than that i guess its a good reliable engine. Ive been trashing my daihatsu engine all year long and the only thing it needs now is only a new valve seal. So i would say its reliable. Thou just make sure u check ur radiator often and service it regularly. Old rad tends to clog due to age.

yes something like that la,not too loud..when press throttle abit hard then will start produce noisy sound ..for kancil 2inch ok boh? or 2.3 inch?

what engine u using? normal kancil? if normal i suggest u stick to 1.6 inch. 2 inch and above for stock car can be overkill. especially if u using auto. do ask around. good kancil foreman will know what diameter suitable for ur engine.

You can try Jian Hang at Batu Caves area. Another one is Everco at Sunway. But sunway area u know la price a bit high but these 2 are recommended by many. Jian Hang will discuss with you and see what you want and do it for u. Most of it is custom by himself. Choose from material wise and quality according to your budget.

Might as well like me save or plan for a Mira Engine transplant only do up the exhaust. Later u do up the exhaust in a stock kancil engine, then u find power not enough, then is a waste again when you decided to change engine.

Unless u plan to stick to the ori engine and improve from there. But is not easy to and the amount spend to bring out the power from a stock engine will be equivalent or more than engine transplant.

everco ka? gila la the price... i did my pipings at some cap ayam exhaust shop but really know how to make kancil exhaust by my foreman recommendation... i have to say he did a very good job on the exhaust and the job was simple and tidy.

but then again a 2.5 inch pipings wont sit properly on the stock kancil la... hahahahaha

Oh. K then I wont go everco next time. I go to Jian Hang. He custom make his exhaust mia. Quite reasonable. Honest guy that would do according to what you really want from your car.

Mine can only be opened by key, the lever seems very weak n bend when i try to pull it

sorry bro i'm from kuching,sarawak .anyway i'm not going to transplant the engine from now on and my current 850 manual engine still going very power and its enough for me.. ..i dun mind if lose little power as just wan my little kancil to produce sporty sound

Reminds me of a Viva yesterday. All noise but no go one haha! My 660 AT kancil can even catch up lol. His shud be the 850 viva as well. Sometimes wrong exhaust setup, makes u lose more power than gaining any.

and fuel consumption sky rocketed.... and will damage ur engine internals in a long run...
