Was slow right now, probably due to raining. For Youtube.com, I have experienced video freezing when watching since last week. Have to refresh few times. TM

QUOTE(theberry @ Oct 22 2014, 11:37 PM) i read here Not just about fiber optics. You see it involves other things before the light transmission send out and before it receives. Of course TM will not take the time to find out what's the real cause. This is the style.Fiber Optics Are Weather Safe – Because it’s not electricity being sent through the wiring, changes in weather cannot affect the signals or information being transmitted. Rain, cold, lightning, all of these can affect traditional electrical signals but not fiber opt[SIZE=7]ics. http://www.datatrend.com/optimize-it/fiber...ot-know-part-2/ i tot rain cannot degrade fiber optics quality? Spent about half an hour just browsing eBay and Amazon during raining. It definitely affects the speed during raining even with new modem and router. Cannot finish loading pages. Have asked the technician about this issue before, they can't answer it.
Don't post any fiber optic light transmission article in reply. People know Fiber optic can't be affected during raining, the experienced technician knew about it also. There were other aspects involved which might has caused slow browsing during raining. |

QUOTE(mowlous @ Nov 4 2014, 02:34 PM) My internet connection started to constantly have "request time out" since two days ago, I used cmd google ping to monitor my connection and notice the connection is not stable. If it is constantly then it could the quality issue of the modem. They give it free but it's low quality. It disrupt skype pretty bad and I constantly loose connection as a result, games and download is not so much of a problem but this is getting annoying. I have reset router and modem, call tm to change port, delete and reinstall connection pathways as well as resetup network connection and re-install network connection. But so far nothing seems to work. Morning would have less timeout but sometimes it's heavy and frequent disconnection in the afternoon or night time. Anyone have this same problem? I have the same issue before. Browsing are OK at day time but at night it becomes slow or can't load websites. I called and reported more than 3 times and they always ask me to do the so called Ping plotter work for them. The technicians didn't solve my problem until I ask them serious what is really going on, they told me the modem was low quality. So I changed both the router and modem and the problem not happening anymore. $50 service charge + router cost. Modem is free for lifetime. |
