Thanks for the heads up. Maybe i'll have to do a factory reset and see what happens. I hate to do all my app configuration all over again. sad.gif

QUOTE(sanderz @ May 16 2014, 10:06 AM)
Works fine on my High Spec version.

Other people from Taiwan also facing the same problem. Perhaps a factory reset will do?

What issue is that? The only issue i've encountered with V0430 firmware is that the double tapping of the volume button sometimes do not bring up the camera app from standby.

Agreed. In addition, with a flip cover, its practically not possible for 1 hand operation.

All these issues mentioned i believe has to do with the firmware not being thoroughly tested before releasing to the public. There are various configurations of this model and with so many different setups (different apps etc.) that there may be compatibility issues with the firmware. Asus needs to do more thorough testing before releasing new firmware updates. I'd rather they take more time to release stable updates than for us to be guinea pigs.

Factory reset advice is an easy solution to offer but its a big hassle for us users IMO. I have been using a Sony Xperia ZL for 1.5 years. During this period, i have gone through numerous updates... from Adroid 4.1.2 to 4.3 and soon to be 4.4. Not ONCE did i need to do a factory reset after update to resolve issues associated with firmware updates.

1. Download the latest International firmware (ending with WW) for your respective Zenfone 5 model. Eg: TOOF_WW is for 2Ghz 2GB and TOOJ_WW is for the 1.6Ghz 1GB model.

2. Take note the date of existing firmware in the phone (Settings->About->Software Information). Eg: 20140430 for V0430 firmware.

3. Extract the -user.zip file from the downloaded _user.zip file.

4. Rename the -user.zip file to UL-ASUS_T00F-CN-yyyy.mm.dd.65432-user.zip where yyyy.mm.dd is any date newer than the existing firmware. If yours is an original Taiwan firmware, replace CN with TW. 65432 is just an arbitrary no, u can use 12345 instead.

5. Connect phone to PC. Copy the renamed -user.zip file to the root directory of the phone's Internal Storage.

6. Disconnect phone from PC.

7. There's an exclamation mark notification on the notification panel. Pull down and click to update.

8. Firmware update complete.
