well, this is indeed a good phone. i just got to know the dual sim slot are both 3G support but either one only. Camera wise would be very good in low light condition...remember the butterfly picture taken? Next would be the performance, it is very butter smooth and i'm referring to 2GB version...at this kind of pricing, only honor 3c is able to compete with it...i like the UI but the bloatwares make it heavy on low spec version

The downside would be battery consumption...perhaps is the stock rom and the powerful processor. Maybe when kitkat released, hopefully it would be better. If battery is as good as honor 3c, well no brainer this is a first choice phone to get...on the other side, the battery issue can also be solved by having a powerbank standby.

There are current 2 colors in the market, black/white...of coz black is so elegant... drool.gif

Based on ZF5 high spec model:

Bought the Zenfone 5 to be used as a travel phone but i've been using it as my local phone to evaluate its performance. Battery life is manageable. A typical work day from morning to late evening, with dual SIMs active, a few calls, using whatsapp, email and web browsing will see battery level dropping down to 30+% or so. If u are only using a single SIM, then the battery life will be better. During my few days of usage, i've noticed that the phone's standby power is not too shabby. Overnight (7+ hours), there's a drop of about 5% of battery power.

Performance of the phone is quite impressive, considering its a mid-tier/budget model. Interface is responsive with no slow downs. Daily operation is very stable. Phone calls are loud and clear (comes with a built in call recorder app accessible from the dialer). Paired to my SBH20/80 stereo headset, i'm getting a better range and performance than my Sony Xperia ZL!

My only quip with this model is the lack of a notification LED. There's a LED on the top right but it only functions as a charging LED.

What issue is that? The only issue i've encountered with V0430 firmware is that the double tapping of the volume button sometimes do not bring up the camera app from standby.

Nice review. By the way, the notification LED will blinks but very shortly if you have notifications from Calls, SMS, Mail, Facebook, WhatsApp etc etc. Maybe you didn't notice it because of the short-blink?

Asking, most of you guys using High Spec, did you guys flash manually to WW version (World Wide) or just staying in TW version (Taiwan)?

No, i'm positive there's no LED notification from missed calls, SMS, etc. It only lights up orange and turns green for charging. I have also tried using Lightflow to control the LED but still no go. Which version of the ZF5 do u have?

Works fine on my High Spec version.

Other people from Taiwan also facing the same problem. Perhaps a factory reset will do?

Lucky for me, I didn't face so many problems but just the battery drainage issue only.
