hi guys..right now which gpu is preferred? got news for any gpu promotion?  laugh.gif

looking for gpu like amd 280x or nvidia gtx770
since feiton also have promotion for antec psu.

feels like wanna pair it with cpu Intel Pentium G3258 LGA 1150  hmm.gif
*
If you want to do overclocking yes the G3258 is good. To me both of the 280X and 770 are on par with each other. If you like to play games that uses the Nvidia Gameworks e:g Upcoming Assassin's Creed title then the way to go is Nvidia. I think AMD has upper advantage on Far Cry as per usual.

They are almost on par, i tested the 280x and the 770, in games like watch dogs the 770 performs slighly a bit better while in Bf4 you do see the 280x with mantle Performs quite well. The extra memory vram on the 280x some may say it's useful but i see it as pretty much redundant. Power consumption wise the 770 is more efficient . Even if you have a good 550w psu, you will most likely get away with it smile.gif

what's the downside and upside of G3258? let's say i overclocked it, will it perform better than the current i5-4460 for example?

NOPE. Well in terms of speed maybe, but in terms of cores/hyper threaded multitasking the i5 will win.

Hmm that I do not know, you might want to do some research on that. But it seems good pairing with a Titan. You heard that right. "THE" Titan.

Here's linky > http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/pentiu...nce,3849-3.html

By the fps benchmark seems like one hell of a great processor to handle the Titan.

Those prices are quoted from Viewnet. You can head over to any shop in LYP actually, or even IdealTech is a good choice as well. smile.gif

yep. i was cursing the shop we bought the components from. laugh.gif
and 1 more thing, Dell monitors(S series especially) only come together with vga cable.
they should at least provide a dvi cable inside the packaging box. i mean the monitors are advertised as Full-HD monitors arent they? what's the vga cable for? lol..
i ended up having to go back to the shop and ask for a hdmi cable. luckily they dont charge for that cable.

*just a reminder to people buying Dell monitors and CM chasis. still relevant to this thread i think.

I think it's pretty much standard they will give vga cable. You can use dvi to vga converter i think it's included in the package. For the hdmi port , try and adjust the position of your videocard.

The i5 from previous generation same goes with the GTX 660. Mind telling what you like about the rig? Is it the casing? You want a similar new rig with the same kind of chassis. Oh also how much budget would put into it?

yea. Kinda like the casing. Coz seems to be small and portable, but would that be a problem when it come to the case's cooling system? hmm.gif

Would prefer something portable. Coz I might bring it to my uni, after graduate, easy to bring it back to my hometown too. nod.gif

budget around 2.5k to max 3k

btw, dun nid to include keyboard and mouse, can reuse. Will need speaker and monitor though. If budget too tight, might cut off the speaker and juz use my headphone. hmm.gif
