QUOTE(joshlee @ Oct 12 2006, 12:46 PM) ahhh my charcoal losing her fur on her tail..can anyone tell me what could be the cause of this?.. i don think its the food i feed her but cant be too sure. could it be stress? Hmm... got any wounds? Maybe she pull it off so that would be a sign of stress.... I just think lah. If the skin looks scabby or like got dandruff, bring to vet coz it may be a fungus infection.

QUOTE(Sugre @ Oct 16 2006, 01:56 PM) Hahaha he is so cute! Tried taking a photo of Roscoe, but it was dark and I was afraid of using the flash. Aiks if I ever take pictures of my SGs it will be all lansi shots. Misa! Thank you! Tell me more if you find out anything on the 100Yen Shop. Otherwise I would be happy to meet up with you at either Ikano, 1Utama or MidValley during the weekend. Maybe we can all have a SG and owner gathering! Hun, thinking of getting your small mix that you said ywould be available in November. I am already feeding my gliders a mix now and they seem to love it. But I would not mind feeding them your mix treat. Such good reviews Sure, my mix treat is still in progress... testing with my own glider to find what it really likes then only give out hehehe... will keep you guys updated about it lah.

Grapes and corn... very little nutritional value, giving as treats is ok but as staple fruits, not a very good idea.
Get hold or make a good glider food mix, it helps in giving nutrition, vitamins and mineral supplements.
Once a while a raisin is good... but too much is well, too sweet hahaha... maybe 1 or 2 raisins a day is good enough.
Do try and lessen the feeding of catfood... sometimes catfood contain avocado oil, salt, garlic... these stuff are bad for gliders....
Feed a variety of our local fruits besides apples, pears and honey dews. Gliders love jambu air, papaya, rambutan...

QUOTE(vincent09 @ Oct 17 2006, 11:44 PM) now my sugar glider eat those cat food ( didn't add garlic that staff ). Then sometime will change other fruit like papaya, mango, apple, pear. Most of time are grape and corn. If like that maybe i change those grape and corn be apple or other fruit. Thank you crazymouse_yyh, although is nothing to my glider now, now still can change to other food for it XD. Yah, go for other fruits. Give cricket and mealworms also. They need protein also. Catfood, as long do not have those stuff I said then ok lah but make sure it is a super premium brand.

HEhehe... Chelsea is very good with small animals... but she can be very rough. Next day I try and get my glider hanging on chelsea's collar... that one very adorable. QUOTE(zymeth90 @ Oct 23 2006, 09:13 PM) is it advisable to get 1 month old gliders? Too young. Get 8 weeks out of pouch... if you get them at 1 month, later you gotta feed milk, provide heat lamp, feed high calcium and protein mix... also they will require MORE care since they can dirty themselves more.

The eyes like that coz born like that... nothing matters...
I'm not sure about glider pregnancy.... I don't read about it much. Better you just feed more fruits and protein to the pregnant female.

Getting a glider.... glider is a really BIG commitment... cannot leave alone whole day, really need to bring it with you everywhere.
A new glider will make noise... crab and crab.... it would take it about 2 weeks to calm down and get used to your smell and hand.... then it would take about 1 month for it to bond with you very closely... and in 3 months can teach it to roam your room and come when you call its name.
So can a glider make noise when alone? Yes if got something scare him....
Now I'm babysitting a male joey, he will crab at my face, crab at my hand, even crab at the food bowl. Why? Coz you see, many people take gliders from suppliers and they do not tame or hold the gliders before selling..... so they actually come untame. Even though untame, a young glider can easily bond and become friendly with humans, unlike adult. Adult gliders are really hard to tame. A bonded untame pair is the worst to tame.
So think carefully, if you get direct from a real breeder that breeds with love and care, sure the glider you buy will be very sweet and easy to handle. But if you get from suppliers.... then be prepared for some training, bites and jumpiness from the young glider.

QUOTE(vincent09 @ Oct 28 2006, 10:41 PM) ic just use cloth with water to clean them or ??? Hmm nowadays always kacau my glider XD, use finger kacau it, touch it, sometime catch it out XD, but after i put it back it feel like blur blur ..... stand there not move at all XD If they stand and not move... means they stone... sort of like defense system in the wild so predators won't notice them in the trees. We gotta remember, they are after all wild animals, not domestic pets. Yes, use a wet cloth to wipe the glider. Their fur is dense, so washing it will give them a cold.

QUOTE(pokmaster @ Oct 29 2006, 03:37 AM) hey, just wanna ask something. can gliders be kept singly or do they have to always be kept in pairs? and if its possible, how well do thety fare in this state? Gliders can be kept singly if you provide it 99% of your attention. Which means carry it everywhere and anywhere you go. Play and feed it with you around. You need to commit and be the gliders companion. I stay up to 2 to 3am... well, today I can't sleep but anyway, I stay up to 2am to play and socialise with my glider while in the day time, I carry her in my bag or pouch. You gotta bring everywhere. I bring mine to college, some bring to work. How they fare? Pretty ok, better bond with us when kept singly. Gotta be with it most of the time so it won't become depress or stressed. The only trouble is when go out station or somewhere where gliders aren't allowed(airplane)....

QUOTE(hamster9 @ Oct 30 2006, 07:04 PM) Oh.. what about China and Hong Kong? If we can train them to stay quietly inside the pouch, I guess why not? But on second thought, afraid they might bring in some native viruses there and spread. The we have Glider flu Symptoms: *you add urself* Hahah... I duno bout China and Hong Kong... only know Singapore... only allow dogs, rabbits, cats, rats and mice, hamsters, gerbils, chincillas and certain parrots and birds.... oh yah, also RES turtle... that's all.
