Not all can get from PW at midvalley.

ReptiVite and Wardley you can get from PW but Sera's Reptilcal C and Exo Terra Calcimize at Pets Safari.

If you need small animal Vitamin, get Canopy or LM brand.... Canopy is Rm12.80 a bottle and LM is about RM16 to Rm17 a bottle... both kinda hard to find these days.

Crazymouse, do you feed them all these supplements? Now I am worried that I am not giving them enough.

Misa, yes I wrote to Arnold and he says that they are not able to deliver to Malaysia yet even though they sent that very same email before.

Khairizha, your baby is super smart and sweet! But maybe you should check on where exactly his/her escape route is just to be safe.

SuiTeng, Damn jealous of you! My gliders would not want to sleep with me. In fact they bit me when they woke up in my hand, I think they were shocked in waking up outside their cage. Sad cry.gif Keep telling my friend that they don't like me - "paranoid".

You do not need to feed all. I have never tried Sera before but ReptiVite has to go with ReptiCal, if you get small animal supplement, it also has to go with either Sera, Reptical or Wardley calcium.

Gut load first. I gutload my mealworms and crickets with vitamin and calcium powder along with dog kibble and cat kibble, also carrots and bits of fruit. After 24 hours then feed to glider or any of my other pets.

Hahah... I remember yesterdau suiteng posted about her gliders unlocking their cage... well, last night I over slept, forgot to let Kiah out of her travel pouch... so she opened it herself, climbed onto my table and ate her apple... then she went on my bed and chewed my ear to wake me up... lol... then whole night she played chasing with my dog... man, I got I cheeky glider.

Sugre,
Gutloading gives better quality food to your gliders mah. When they are at the petshop, all the eat are just oats, just loads of fiber and carbo... no minerals or vitamins. Mealworms on oats are only loaded with fat...

Bond with a glider first, then only he will learn to stick to you like glue. I can carry my glider anywhere and she won't jump away unless she knows the person next to me.

QUOTE(smellyocheese @ Sep 16 2006, 11:18 PM)
uh.... gliders are nocturnal. they shouldn't be very active in the day and please do not attempt to "convert their sleeping timing".

it's a very huge misconception that bonding and taming gliders means you have to play with them 24/7. you're gonna stress that poor thing and can die from stress.
bonding with gliders in the day means you keep it by your body in a pouch (PDA pouch or something). some girls here do "bra bonding". guys can put the glider in their shirt pockets. the glider will be sleeping and at the same time, getting used to your smell and they will appreciate your body heat and breathing movements. take them out for lunch, handfeeding them worms and fruits.

play with them at night while they're active.

adult gliders are extremely hard to tame. put a smelly t-shirt over the cage or as a lining of it's sleeping area to let it get used to your scent. slowly gain its trust by handfeeding. be prepared to get bitten and scratched at though. if you can't handle that, it'd be quite hard to tame.
My pie pie so clever  rclxms.gif  Taggy's sisters play with her but left her in her bag downstairs. the bag zipped. she learned how to open the zip already. so anyway, she opened the zip, found her way upstairs... looking for taggy. morning mummy see her playing with my meow (Tremmie). Now she's not scared of Tremmie already. lol.
*
LOL... Kiah still likes to sleep at a certain place sweat.gif

At least Pie Pie unzip.... Kiah unzip... so I put a clip to block the zipper... then she determine to get out, so she go and chew up the bag and made a new hole below the zipper... man, she destroyed 3 bags liao... now in a nice drawstring bag I bought from 100Yen shop hehheh....

Just now brought Kiah to Izzi restaurant at Bukit Bintang hahaha.... she had a taste of ice lemon tea and had fun crawling all over me... should see those people, staring at me tongue.gif

Aiyo, can open the zip also wan ar -- lol i love how they're so smart. but eeps, dangerous dangerous  sweat.gif  just now mine (i haven't figured out a name for him but since he's a boy and taking care of him is like taking care of a baby -- so i've been calling him baby boy only and he's been responding to it  laugh.gif damn what an original name  whistling.gif  ) so anyways, just now baby boy was hanging in the kitchen with me while I was preparing his dinner. he kept stealing the honeydew before i could put it in his bowl -- took one in both hands. and then he licked some remaining yoghurt off of the spoon. greedy greedy.

Wow -- I'm really amazed at those of you who have the confidence to let your gliders roam around while you're out in public. I'm so afraid that he'll run away. right now, i'm still too overprotective la  tongue.gif  hehe
*
Hahaha.... they learn very fast. But once bonded, will rarely stray... mine likes to hop on my friends that it knows... but then it hops from my friend to friend to be nearer to me hahah... kinda funny.

Most of my friends are scared and called Kiah a rat blink.gif mad.gif

Hahaha... baby boy... faster get a nice name for him lah heheheh... go search for baby names, that's what I did hehehe...

Oh I only bring Kiah out in confined and indoor places.... never out in the streets... also, you can see me constantly feeling my body hahah.. people must be wondering why I touch myself so much... well, I'm just being careful and wanna make sure Kiah is on me all the time. tongue.gif

Question: Guys, do you refridgerate your mealworms? I don't. But how come it's recommended to refridgerate 'em?
*
When you refridgerate, you slow their growth and keep them fresh from mites... but then, I don't see the point also coz I want fat mealworms, they become beetles also good coz my hedgie likes them hahahah....

btw, how's the mix?

Try to get them more bonded to you first then only try to cut their nails la -- when they're asleep. I'm not going to bother to cut mine although he allows me to hold his hand when he's asleep. His nails don't bother me and he doesn't really grip hard on my arms so -- for now it's fine.

At least yours are eating the mealworms -- mine don't want to touch it! He ate the green peas and carrots instead! lol i'm going to have to mash them up maybe. Adoi....  sweat.gif

And Hun! I'm so happy -- I woke up to an empty dish! He finished everything! And then this morning I gave him a small piece of pear to chew on -- he wouldn't touch the mealworm. Haih.
*
Mealworms takes time hehehe... but it's good that your lil boy is taking the mix very well. rclxms.gif Anyway, you're my 1st customer heheheh....

Ohoho! Seriously people -- whoever's interested in glider mix -- get them from Hun. It's good stuff. thumbup.gif
*
Thanks thanks.... which mix did you let your little boy try? Oh yah, you don't need to add honey in if he takes it straight now... it's sweeten with blackcurrants and apple juice already.

LOL, I test my own mixes on myself before on my glider. So if it taste good to me, taste good to glider also.

Try those newly molted mealworms... white white and soft.... coz Kiah didn't want mealworms at first until I gave her those newly molted ones... with their heads cut off... after 1 month of that, she now knows how to eat without me cutting their heads... but she prefers her glider mix rather than mealworms hahahah...

QUOTE(nugget @ Sep 21 2006, 12:00 AM)
hi all,

advise needed. I bought the glider few days ago...fully grown adult..
they smell stink...and their fur is dirty...how to bath em ?
izzit correct to use water spray to spray @ them n use a hair dryer?

they seems shivering...is tht their nature or they are scared?
if I keep on try to play n try to tame em...how do I knw they are stress?
*
Do not bath.... do not ever attempt to bath using hose or water spray.... if you do not do it correctly, can die from cold... also, hair dryer is big NO NO... I saw before glider dried by hair dryer... the ears so badly burned... injured and so painful. It can burn till look like no ears at all.

Adult glider, takes longer time to tame. You cannot just put your hand inside and simply touch it, might give heart attack. Also, some may bite if they feel threaten. They shiver, they are scared, they crab, they are angry and scared of you...

i search theh whole house...normally they will bark right?but all seems to be quite cry.gif ...the cage I bought have bigger hole than teir body..I buy some wire to secure it...but somehow this two smart guy...dunno go where when I return to work.nevermind lah...the cage I will use it for my iguana.
hope fully they return n I will buy a cage with smaller gaps
*
Gliders do not bark to tell you where they are. They bark for their companions... so if both gliders escape together, they won't make a sound also unless they crab when see danger.

Just put out some fruits and see if got eat or not. If the fruits are touched, then it means you still got chance of catching them back... but if not... well, you know lah.

Adult gliders rarely respond to human interaction when they are wild and do not know human companionship.

Eating their own poop is ok. Won't get sick. It is a sign.... it is saying your glider got not enought vitamin B.... so to get the Vit B, it now eats its own poop to get it loh.... or it could be digestion problem and the bacteria in the poop can help.

oh yaya i oso feed them v apple n watermelon.......
*
Nestum, mealworms, apple and watermelon? Well, that is really quite a bad diet. Watermelon has loads of water only, can cause diarheaa.... then not enough nutrition. Same goes with apples.... You need to give a VARIETY only they can have all the nutrition they need.

Mealworms is just protein with loads of fat... no vitamins or minerals in them.

Nestum has cow's milk inside plus sugar.... you are spoilling your glider's health with such food.... shakehead.gif
