this is normal, engine braking to help you save brake and safety purpose. annoying sometime as it is overly sensitive but it is normal for earlier gen2 before cps engine...

Thanks for the feedback. I thought I bought a used car with gearbox problem.
It sounds like a good "function" but most of the time it is kind of annoying. sweat.gif

congratz on your purchase  rclxms.gif
AUTO nice. normal campro or CPS? yes, as explained below, its auto brake.. but you could solve it by pressing a bit of fuel pedal..

have u changed the brake oil? gear oil? engine oil? water pump? belts? if not yet, pls change it now to avoid any problem
*
er, 2005 gen 2. I'm not sure it is campro or CPS. wink.gif
But this auto brake feature isn't found on other car? Most of the time I felt it is wasting my petrol (slowing down the vehicle) than helping me. Especially on highway. Need to press the fuel pedal till 3.5k rpm for it to change gear. doh.gif

Serviced almost everything dy. rclxm9.gif

By the way, the type of bulb for headlamp is T10 for "small" light and H4 for the "big"? Just to double comfirm.

Not advisable...
Don't worry, just let the gear drag abit no problem 1, it's not exceeding 3400rpm also as it will auto shift up again if speed reaching 80km/h...

Other car also hv this feature, just not over-sensitive as gen2.

I bought mine at RM18k 2005 1.6 (A) full spec with
leather seats and the millage only 95k 2 years ago.

but after all re-conditioning things then became close to
RM25k.

My friend got it at RM25k from the tent but only 1.3
and very low spec.

I'm not sure about his..

quite troublesome to let the engine humming when go down the slope,
acceleration again sure failed, need to really press to paddle to let it change gear.

know a reason why not advisable to change to 'N' while in driving mode?

engine humming? how high is the rpm? the beautiful sound at 3,200 - 3,400 rpm you already complain noisy? come-on, ppl say gen2 campro sounds like superbike, the tone is so nice... some guys here always rev up to 5-6k rpm... you should know the engine characteristics before getting gen2 right?
auto campro x= silent x= save fuel
blush.gif

btw, you can google some article on "putting neutral on auto car", "auto car engine braking" etc, sure have a lot of debate.

Am I missing the common buyer guide on Gen2? Or this hasn't been discussed before. Was just browsing around, trying to get a hold and feel the common problem and things to take note in a Gen2. Will be owning 1 pretty soon. Can otai point me to the right source of information regarding what should I be extra careful when getting a Gen2?

So far, I've seen the car. Price is satisfactory. 2008 with decent outlook. Engine is slightly oily despite the dealer washed it to cover up. I have managed to find leaks around the gasket area by squeezing my finger to water unreachable area. Power steering fluid is dirty, will have to do it by myself instead of asking them to do it. Checked again, also figured brake fluid hasn't been changed since day 1. This, also I planned to fix it by myself. On test drive, there's no extra rattle noise in the cabin. Not being able to test the brakes thoroughly as I've been driving in busy traffic. Power delivery, just like any other 1.6 Campro. Seriously, couldn't feel the difference even if it's a CPS.

Any other thing I should take note of? Mohon otai tunjuk ajars.

p/s: Just realized I got quoted on the famous Kampro kick start issue on 1st page. TQ TQ notworthy.gif

How to check waterpump? Fead belt is wrecking I notice, they'll get it changed before hand over the car.

What sort of crank can be a replacement if the stock is rubbish? If I leave it as is, is it safe to drive. Trust me, at my age seldom hit the red lines anymore.

if the power steering fluid also didnt change, just go and replace your waterpump / belts .. its more than 7 years sweat.gif
around rm160 new..but if overheated at road side, will cost u higher

well, if unker style driving, crank shaft should be ok nod.gif nevertheless, there are reports that unker style drive oso can patah crankshaft or flywheel.. depends on pure luck i guess
