This is what i read from virtual-hideout.net, is your ram the same as this?
QUOTE Well, I'm not going to sugarcoat this conclusion. This is a basic 800mhz @ 5-5-5-12 @ 1.9v value memory kit with some fancy heat spreaders and nothing more. I whole heartedly think it's not worth the effort to even bother trying to overclock them. Not when you really gotta crank the voltages just to squeeze some sap from the tree. I guess that pretty much sums up everything This post has been edited by Bliz: Oct 4 2006, 07:45 PM |

Can any C2D OC pros help me. 1) wht soft ware should i use to OC??.. (currently i have some basic tools like cpu-z-137, Prime95 ver. 24.14, Easy tune, 3Dmark03/05). 2) I only need to adjust the FSB to OC.. 3) Should i modding the mobo?? 4) Shall i change some BIOS setting?? thanks. QUOTE(Evogenix @ Oct 8 2006, 11:28 PM) i just remove the n/b heatsink, cleaned the default thermal pad and reapplied with as5. Then, mod the spring fitting abit... too bad, cant see the temp improved. need to search for 40mm fan now. I actually fitted a 50mm fan ontop of it, still temperature is very high. The tension on the spring is very low la, can pull out the heatsink easily. Will try to remount it with AS5 and see how it goes, btw what is your NB temperature?Mine reaching 50c this hot afternoon Evogenix |

QUOTE(blaxez @ Oct 11 2006, 01:09 AM) From 1.86GHz -> 3.01GHz without any hassle and running 24/7. The temps are a little bit hot on full load and my Thermalright Ultra-90 is coming to save the day. Mine is Acbel but only 400w, still alive and kicking. I suggest dump that CM lar, get enermax FMA 530w, should be around that price also My PSU costs about RM280, you can get a better one for sure, 500W and above is recommended. I'm using it because I transferred it from my previous rig and not gonna waste it as it is doing its job very well. Don't worry dude, we are willing to assist you in OC-ing. |

QUOTE(Canopies @ Oct 11 2006, 01:14 AM) Ok..so now pls recommend me what psu should i use..i think i will do OC since it dam geng..but i hv to be more pro 1st only dare to do OC...feel that its cool la..dam geng...3.01ghz???...siao... U are worrying too much about OC, just get a proper casing with good airflow, meaning at least got 1 relatively unrestricted intake at front and one exhaust at the back. Oh yeah if u wanna OC and run 24/7 @3ghz i suggest get a 3rd party heatsink, spend around RM200 extra for the heatsink.OC need to buy many fans rite?...and it might consume a lot of energy... so now...my planed rigs is Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 1.86GHz Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 i965P CoreDuo RM540 1GB Corsair PC5300 DDR 667 DDR 2 CL5 Value Ram RM440 Western Digital Caviar 160GB SATA II RM215 Galaxy 7900GS 512MB DDR3 RM730 CRT samsung monitor 19'' RM300 psu i buy ATX casing with Enermax Liberty 500W (RM539) izit enough edi?ok or not?...OC still hv to set up wat?..fan??..how much izit?..my room is a aircond room..always will cool if i be there..so how? |

Why bother buying soundcard with that kind of budget? Get a better speaker for RM300, soundcard later when u have more $$$. Anyway i think u are getting off topic, we are here to discuss OC about c2duo. If u want to ask for recommendation i suggest u post at hardware section, it is more appropriate to ask there

QUOTE(Sanko @ Oct 11 2006, 05:28 PM) hrmm... it's like this. i just ordered a new pair of ram and i sold off my previous rams. for few days i don't have pc to use cause no ram. then i pinjam from my friend for temporary use. one night when i was not at home, the owner of the ram came to my house to get back the ram. so my roommate plug out the ram. after pluging it out then only the owner of the ram recall than he wants to copy some files from my hdd. so my roommate plug in the ram back. sigh... he put wrongly and power up my pc. hehe.. the ram and ram slot hangus. luckily only ram slot bakar, if not whole DS4 he needs to pay. Yeah read online that the Toughpower is actually quite good, but everybody is staying away from it since TT PSU not so good previously for psu, no one seems to notice ThermalTake Toughpower version psu. it's not expensive and got plenty of nice reviews on it. it seems that Toughpower has overcome Thermaltake previous problematic and bad reputation psu. irenic is using one. between CM iGreen and TT Toughpower, hrmmm.... tough choice. |

I guess 350w will be enough la, but have to see what kind of display card u have. If like mine all low end stuffs, only 400w PSU for oc to 2.8ghz

Actually i don't see the point of spending the money to get 2x ATI 1950pro, i rather get a x1950xtx or 7950gx2, much better than getting 2 mid end card and "crossfire" it
