This is what i read from virtual-hideout.net, is your ram the same as this?

Well, I'm not going to sugarcoat this conclusion. This is a basic 800mhz @ 5-5-5-12 @ 1.9v value memory kit with some fancy heat spreaders and nothing more. I whole heartedly think it's not worth the effort to even bother trying to overclock them. Not when you really gotta crank the voltages just to squeeze some sap from the tree.

I guess that pretty much sums up everything

i guess we can switch and test and see. besides, this proc and mobo was yours. weird i cannot seems to get the result on par with yours when you were using corsair vs. i think my oc ability really teruk...
*
Maybe u wanna try the F6 bios, flashed it yesterday, did 400x7 all stock except vdimm +0.2 without a hitch laugh.gif . If u failed oc it will just restart back to the older settings without needing u to clear the bios icon_idea.gif

Im newbie in OC core2,
Just now i try OC my E63 with Easy Tune 5. I straight away push proc peformance to 120%. No doubt sure will reboot one.. but im curious, so i give it a try...  blush.gif
After failure and reboot twice then BIOS auto recovery... pc back to normal.

Can any C2D OC pros help me.
1) wht soft ware should i use to OC??.. (currently i have some basic tools like cpu-z-137, Prime95 ver. 24.14, Easy tune, 3Dmark03/05).
2) I only need to adjust the FSB to OC..
3) Should i modding the mobo??
4) Shall i change some BIOS setting??

thanks.  notworthy.gif
*
Don't use software to OC, it's not gonna work very well whistling.gif . My pc rebooted once i oc using ET5, but then if i oc using bios nothing goes wrong. Update your bios to F6 version, +0.2vdimm, and set the cpu host clock to 400mhz, memory multiplier to 2x, and watch it flies wub.gif

i just remove the n/b heatsink, cleaned the default thermal pad and reapplied with as5. Then, mod the spring fitting abit... too bad, cant see the temp improved. need to search for 40mm fan now.

I actually fitted a 50mm fan ontop of it, still temperature is very high. The tension on the spring is very low la, can pull out the heatsink easily. Will try to remount it with AS5 and see how it goes, btw what is your NB temperature?Mine reaching 50c this hot afternoon sweat.gif

for those that want to use the stock n/b heatsink and improve the temp performance, you can try this method thumbup.gif
I did it on my chipset heatsink. bruce.gif

From 1.86GHz -> 3.01GHz without any hassle and running 24/7. The temps are a little bit hot on full load and my Thermalright Ultra-90 is coming to save the day.

My PSU costs about RM280, you can get a better one for sure, 500W and above is recommended. I'm using it because I transferred it from my previous rig and not gonna waste it as it is doing its job very well.

Don't worry dude, we are willing to assist you in OC-ing.
*
Mine is Acbel but only 400w, still alive and kicking. I suggest dump that CM lar, get enermax FMA 530w, should be around that price also whistling.gif

Ok..so now pls recommend me what psu should i use..i think i will do OC since it dam geng..but i hv to be more pro 1st only dare to do OC...feel that its cool la..dam geng...3.01ghz???...siao...

OC need to buy many fans rite?...and it might consume a lot of energy...

so now...my planed rigs is

Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 1.86GHz
Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 i965P CoreDuo RM540
1GB Corsair PC5300 DDR 667 DDR 2 CL5 Value Ram RM440
Western Digital Caviar 160GB SATA II RM215
Galaxy 7900GS 512MB DDR3 RM730
CRT samsung monitor 19'' RM300
psu i buy ATX casing with Enermax Liberty 500W (RM539)

izit enough edi?ok or not?...OC still hv to set up wat?..fan??..how much izit?..my room is a aircond room..always will cool if i be there..so how?
*
U are worrying too much about OC, just get a proper casing with good airflow, meaning at least got 1 relatively unrestricted intake at front and one exhaust at the back. Oh yeah if u wanna OC and run 24/7 @3ghz i suggest get a 3rd party heatsink, spend around RM200 extra for the heatsink.

Why bother buying soundcard with that kind of budget? Get a better speaker for RM300, soundcard later when u have more $$$. Anyway i think u are getting off topic, we are here to discuss OC about c2duo. If u want to ask for recommendation i suggest u post at hardware section, it is more appropriate to ask there

hrmm... it's like this. i just ordered a new pair of ram and i sold off my previous rams. for few days i don't have pc to use cause no ram. then i pinjam from my friend for temporary use. one night when i was not at home, the owner of the ram came to my house to get back the ram. so my roommate plug out the ram. after pluging it out then only the owner of the ram recall than he wants to copy some files from my hdd. so my roommate plug in the ram back. sigh... he put wrongly and power up my pc. hehe.. the ram and ram slot hangus. luckily only ram slot bakar, if not whole DS4 he needs to pay.

for psu, no one seems to notice ThermalTake Toughpower version psu. it's not expensive and got plenty of nice reviews on it. it seems that Toughpower has overcome Thermaltake previous problematic and bad reputation psu. irenic is using one. between CM iGreen and TT Toughpower, hrmmm.... tough choice.
*
Yeah read online that the Toughpower is actually quite good, but everybody is staying away from it since TT PSU not so good previously whistling.gif

Actually i don't see the point of spending the money to get 2x ATI 1950pro, i rather get a x1950xtx or 7950gx2, much better than getting 2 mid end card and "crossfire" it wink.gif

Well i tried 420x7 earlier this morning, after a while system won't boot doh.gif . When i set the vdimm to +0.3v, it won't boot at all. The 420x7 was done everything at stock, with only vdimm +0.2v. Lazy to try higher again lar, satisfied with 2.8ghz laugh.gif . Anyway my system temperature is damn high, always around 45c, took out that thing applied AS5 already + put a small fan on top, still high temperature sweat.gif .
