Hey guys i am thinking of getting a new CPU cooler for my E6300+DS3. Any suggestion? Don't want giant tower heatsink like Ninja or Ultra 120, my casing cannot fit shakehead.gif . How about Ultra 90,XP 90C, TT Big Tyhoon VX, which one is the best? I am leaning towards ultra 90 or xp90c cos both not so big and heavy rclxub.gif

Your XP90C can't bring the temp lower? I am still on stock HSF but running at 3.01GHz (430*7)
*
Still waiting for my xp90c from bulk order, probably can get it earlier next week. My temp at 2.45ghz is 60c right now, and the system temp is around 45c sweat.gif . BTW, i noticed some users installed a small fan on top of the DS3 chipset HS, how to do that? Cos i have an extra 50mm fan tongue.gif

50mm fan might be a little too big for it, what I did is install a 40mm fan by inserting 2 screws between the gaps of the heatsink.
*
Yahyah maybe, i just did measurement. The fan is the same size as the HS, probably have to figure out a way to mount it some other day laugh.gif

don't underestimate that PSU though  sweat.gif

Wah that is your 24/7 setup? 72c is kind of worrying to me tongue.gif , i prefer it to be lower than 60c for daily usage

60c is still ok considering our hot ambient temperature here, i guess that's nothing to worry about.

Just joined the C2D club...

E6600 + P5B Deluxe..and it's reporting very high temps. Motherboard 50C and prime load 75C!!!!

Gotta have to tinker with it later...will report soon
*
Wow finally, welcome to the club rclxms.gif . The stock HSF is pretty ok for e6300 and e6400 but i doubt it will work nicely for e6600 tongue.gif , time to change a new cooler wub.gif . As some users of xtremesystem noted, some conroe IHS are not flat and that lead to abnormal temperature doh.gif

I think the cooler wasn't mounted properly lor since I did everything in a hurry last night.. However, the mainboard temps seems quite excessive also..that's the main concern.
*
Those P965express chip is known to be running hot, i guess it's almost the as my previous Nforce 4 SLI blink.gif . I touched the HS on the DS3 and it's burning hot when oc, even no OC already hot to touch sweat.gif
