Often this is my daily carry
Me just like to look out for some of them cheaper stuffs to recommend others. So far I think the Platinum Pocheno is best for writing, loaded with 4B 0.5mm lead. Light, little wobble, just nice size and manufactured in Japan. I believe it is no more being made. http://davesmechanicalpencils.blogspot.my/...pen-review.html Most of Cross stuff of this era were being made in china but this multipen was made in Japan so the mech is pretty smooth and sweet. QUOTE(shea2812 @ Nov 5 2015, 12:20 PM) Thanks for the input. Eno-G is not the same as Eno. There is a mark 'High Purity Graphite' on it. Didn't know there is another variant called eno-G. Haven't seen that before, but found a picture online:![]() QUOTE(shea2812 @ Nov 5 2015, 12:20 PM) I suppose our shrinking market it making finding good stuffs like pencil lead is not easy. Distributors lacking incentive to bring them in what with our low currency rate at the moment making a business proposition out of a simple pencil lead a little less attractive. I guess it is a matter of demand. Most people use HB and 2B, so perhaps the demand for 4B is lesser.Anyway, that's why I'm always on the lookout when overseas... trying to find pencils or pencil leads that are hard to find locally. Only knew about it when I stumbled into them during one of my visits to one art shop. Now I am into pencils.... ha ha. They are so smooth that they almost rival a decent fountain pen to write with. To do em justice one need a decent pencil to carry em tho, hence my choice of Platinum Pocheno after trying a few. Platinum Oleenu is another fine candidate. Its a rear push to advance one though. 4B doesnt quite work in Kuru Toga though. The lead turning mech cant keep with the lead wear rate.![]() I guess it is a matter of demand. I remember about the paint abrasion issue.
Sorry to hear about the bent tip after dropping. Yeah, all these mech pencils with the tip/sleeve are vulnerable if dropped and kena the tip. |

QUOTE(jchong @ Nov 11 2015, 02:19 PM) Many years ago I used to use the alpha-matic. It was expensive even now. Now even more so even used.... haha. Recalling .. kinda a little heavy for my liking. Auto advance also means that you have to lift your pencil once in a while. But I suppose the solidity of german manufacture is unrivalled even to this day. |
