Netflix app has the capability to detect your internet bandwidth and increase the resolution if detected sufficient bandwidth. Netflix does not call it FHD but SHD instead.

Anyhow, less ppl use Netflix now because too expensive, have to pay two times subscription, one for DNS and one for Netflix subscription.

There are few free english apps, Netflix not really necessary.

is the menu operation language in Chinese only? no option for English?

Very good question, this is the differentiation between traditional media player and Android player.

Similar to your Android phone, Android player base (kernel) is alway English, but it support multi language. If you install Englush apps, you get Emglish Menu and English interface, if you install Chinese apps, you get Chinese menu and Chinese interface.

Another thing might confused you is the Android Launcher. Himedia build in MangoTV launcher as below screen which has some Chinese characters :



However, you could change to 3rd party English launcher as below screen :

It is confirmed Unify, maxis and time has throttled MangoTV, the maximum speed could get is less than 1Mbps. To watch MangoTV, pls start the China VPN app to bypass the trotlling as mentioned in the getting started email.

Alternatively, you could use other preinstall apps to watch Chinese TV series and movies.

mangotv's been throttled for many months now.

good news is the rest incl hitv, puding still ok!



i will be testing a truehd7.1 atmos file, will confirm if q16 can handle it with 1.08 firmware.

It was on and off for couple of months for Maxis and Time, now maximum speed with Mangotv is less than 1M. But after install the VPN, the speed increase to 6M.

lately, youtube lagging, slow, unlike before. many have reported in the broadband threads. it is true.

i think unifi (and others maybe) are starting to block, throttle some popular heavy traffic sites due to fast incr in users while slow in infra investment.

I believe not a problem, you can try. Kodi 15 is on the way, if you have no problem with current version, I would advise not to chase behind the version.
